Assembler/Technician/Maintenance Apprentice

I was hired as an assembler,after 2 years,the

supervisors seen, rather than run from work,I ran

to it.They also saw that I had a thirst for

knowledge, and that I possessed a mind that was

capable of far more than just assembly line work.I was asked if I would be willing to train for a back- up technician position, to which I quickly agreed.I became well versed in every aspect of injection

molding, from the tool that molded the parts to

the robotic extraction equipment that worked in

unison with the machines. After learning I had

schooling in electronics, and an understanding of a variety of complex system operations, and could

remedy issues in seconds, that took others far

longer, even some of the maintenance personnel,

they offered to pay for me to attend

college.Again,I jumped at the opportunity. I

attended Lord Fairfax Community College

beginning in 2011 through 2013,where I studied a

variety of job relevant subjects from hydraulics

and Pneumatics, to Autocad and PLC.

(Programmable Logic Control).Months prior to

graduation, Lear Corp. unfortunately lost its

consumer's contract and due to downsizing, I was

not only let go,I lost my college tuition, and was not able to obtain completion certification. I do

however have an extensive knowledge of

production environments and machine operation

understandings that make me an attribute to any

facility that uses simple or complex machining.I

also learned the importance of producing quality

products in a timely manner and the importance

of regular dimensional parameter and strength

checks,and charting machine fluctuations that

can impact finished product variations. I was

responsible for conveying to management when

those machines could no longer conform to

parameters, and needed to be stopped and

repaired, and how extensive the repairs could

be,depending upon order demand.Always

remembering, quality in a product is priority

number one because if quality isn't met,the cost of remanufacture and any liability encured due to

defective products is devastating to a companies

revenue and reputation, which go hand in hand.
