Curo Health - New Century Hospice
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
11/2016- 12/2019
Director of Operations for New Century Hospice in Lynchburg Va. (A division of Curo Health Services) I began with the company in 2016 as Director of Operations for Avalon Hospice in Johnson City Tn. Curo Health Services is currently one of the largest Hospice companies in the United States. Curo is a company who strives daily for clinical excellence and is now ACHC accredited in 100% of its current locations. I have many responsibilities as Director, including but not limited to Business Management, operations budget, Clinical director of nursing staff, clinical educator, auditing of all Medicare related forms, QUAPI for the branch, compliance monitor and educator, RN in field occasionally, patient care management, patient educator, management of supplies, marketing, DEYTA and CAHPS survey and review, coordinator and inventor of action plans related to branch deficiencies, maintenance of all Medicare guidelines material, contract delegation, and currently have been assisting sister offices with ACHC survey preparation, education on Emergency Prep planning, and educating new Directors on their roles and responsibilities for Curo. I have a very outgoing personality and am active in marketing and PR for the company as well. I am also active with Alzheimers Awareness and hold Co-Chair position on the Alzheimers Walk retention committee, with Denise Smith. I am an RN at heart and a true advocate which makes me a strong leader and educator. I love to educate and see the results of a well educated staff. While in Johnson City I improved scores for DEYTA/CAHPS to 2nd in the region. When I began with the company the branch ranked 22nd. I had improved clinical knowledge with all staff improving not only patient satisfaction, but overall performance with reflection on all areas of clinical excellence scores rising during my stay as director. For the Lynchburg Va branch I have seen excellent results with continued education as well. Lynchburg DEYTA/CAHPS scores that came out in June has shown tremendous improvement to number 1 for that month with most scores reflecting 100% satisfaction. Clinical excellence scores for the last reported quarter (Q2) were also a huge improvement since I began with the branch last October. I thrive on challenges and love to hurdle adversity. My true passion is providing quality health care and the best way to get that to the masses is to educate our staff, installing drive and passion, to change the face of hospice. In this way we can give every patient the beautiful end of life journey they deserve.
