To ensure that paper work (documentation) is done correctly pertaining to export packing (overseas) / packing and shifting (internal) / delivery of import consignment. And measurement / weight of export cargo is taken correctly and documented correctly.

To ensure that standard type of packing materials and required quantity is used by the packers (not less not more) based on the types of item is being packed to ensure that the item don’t sustain damage during transit.

To ensure nut / bolt and other fitting removed from any items are packed and documented properly in the packing list.

To ensure that over packing is not done by the packers which may increase the weight and volume of the item.

To ensure that during stuffing the shipment in the ply wood box / container packers should not put heavy weight cargo on top of light weight / fragile cargo to avoid any damage.

To ensure the goods are secured properly so that during transit there is no movement, which could result in huge damages.

To ensure when the shipment is not loose load, and the shipment does not fill the container fully the packages must be tightly stowed all the way to the ceiling in the container and the load blocked or braced by a wooden bulkhead to prevent the load from shifting during the transport to its destination.

To ensure during packing air shipment to polythene is used for electrical appliances / mattress / carpets / books / and cloths and not use polythene for packing plastic ware / china ware / kitchen ware items.

To ensure that crate is used for fragile items like glass / big decoration items expensive oil paintings, lamp shade etc.

To ensure that excess packing materials returned from work is deposited with stores against packing materials return sheet.

To ensure that Sr. packer is included in the team while handling heavy machinery during loading and unloading

To ensure that ply wood is made of proper size no empty space should remain after stuffing of cargo is done.

To ensure the tally sheet when loose import and export packages are stuffing and de stuffing in the container or plywood box any places also warehouse.

To ensure the export and import shipment cargo or machineries items or personal effects are stacked on the pallets, ply wood box or container in a discipline manner with space kept 3 fit from each inch stack and boundary wall for allowing the jack trolley / forklift and manual push trolley to pass through and to place the goods at the desired location.

To ensure hazard identification and risk assessment any one control of the workplace to identify the potential hazards of the proposed work. Assess the risks involved and develop controls, to eliminate the risk to assist in hazard identification and the development of controls, all the workers / employees must attend a tool box talk conducted by the manager of the team or by the supervisor at work site.
