Resurrection of underperforming 35 bed unit. 72 staff, including Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Unit Secretaries and Patient Care Coordinators. Achieving 104% productivity and maintaining 100% productivity. Reduction in overtime from 1.7-2.0 Full Time Employees (FTE’s) to consistently less than 0.72 FTE. Maintained CORE standards above 97%.

Performed quarterly employee satisfaction and assessment rounds as well as annual employee assessments. Launched an employee recognition program which improved morale and created a cohesive staffing environment improving the overall employee satisfaction. Leading to retention of high performers and coaching out of low performers.

Lead employee charity program further enhancing employee morale. 3 East adopted an under privileged family for Christmas. The staff collectively purchased and delivered an entire Christmas from the dinner and Christmas tree to presents for the entire family of four.

Piloted hourly round protocols, bedside report protocols and established new pain management standards improving pain management HCAHPS from 52.94% to 87.29%. Improving the overall HCAHPS rating from 60.71 % to 90%.

Served on Performance Excellence Teams aimed at increasing HCAHPS as well as decreasing the patient length of stay using the LEAN mentality.
