SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER, WAYNESBORO, GA, INGEVITY

Managed production area for automated visual inspection (AVI) equipment. Increased production by at least 10% while in role for 3 months by focusing on operator and maintenance training. Lead equipment commissioning for AVI2, LEAD 2 (Log End Analysis and Dimension), and an automated packaging line. These capital projects involved assisting the vendor with design, developing and executing test plans, performing safety assessments, and operator training. Each project executed with on-time delivery and within budget.

APR 2016 – AUG 2018

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER, SYLVANIA, GA, MILLIKEN & COMPANY Led a team of 10 members to turn the department into a VPP model department. This was done by initiating a daily management system, 5S, and performing hazard assessments. Conducted process improvement project using Lean Six Sigma Green Belt tools that reduced off quality product by 48% resulting in $195K annual savings.

Responsible for the timely installation and start-up of new equipment that turned a batch textile softening process into a continuous process. The capital project was successful in producing $255K in labor and process savings, where the justification for the equipment was estimated at $170K. Developed training program for the operation of equipment. Created specifications. New equipment made defect free product during production.
