WORK EXPERIENCE

Equity analyst and stock and options trader 2015-2023

Personal Trading, Belmont, MA

Researched and traded semiconductor, biotech and pharmaceutical stocks and options.

Wrote research briefs on: BLRX, VKTX, MDGL, VRCA, NVTS, DAWN, CRMD, and MIRM

I use a fundamental stock analysis approach. For pharmaceutical companies I review the FDA calendar and read industry publications to identify investment candidates. I analyze Phase I, II, III studies to examine the efficacy of the drug and assess the likelihood of FDA approval. I review company 10-k’s. I read independent publications to assess the probability of drug approval, competitors, and to determine peak annual sales. I compare the peak annual sales to the current market capitalization of the company to gauge the potential rate of return. I review the cash flow from operations and compare it to the current cash position to see if the firm will need to raise additional funds. This approach gives me an understanding of the company and its products that translates into selective and successful stock picking. I write research briefs on companies that I think will be investment opportunities.

2023 successes include: AEHR +79.50%, BLRX +40.29% ACMR +39.49% STM + 54%, INMD + 25%

Investments are up +50% over the last 12 months.

Started an employee benefits brokerage firm. Sold and serviced group health, dental, life, and disability insurance and 401k plans. Grew the business to 200 small business clients that produced $1.5 million in annual commissions.

Managed a staff of six employees.

Developed and managed a health reimbursement account program that reduced health insurance costs for clients by 5-10%.

Designed a customer service strategy called ACT Now that led to 90% client retention. The program gave customer service representatives a timeline to manage renewals.

Sold 401k plans. Assets grew to nearly $100 million. Identified prospects with $1 million in assets that had insurance company wrap fees in their 401-k plans. I eliminated those fees to save 25-50bps on their plans. 401k providers included Fidelity Investments, Manulife, and Principal. 100% client retention rate.

Created mutual fund portfolios. Benchmarked mutual fund results on a quarterly basis. Reviewed mutual fund performance on YTD, 1 year, 3 year, 5 year, and 10 year time periods. Checked fund expense ratios. Conducted employee education meetings. Met with fiduciaries.
