Personal Statement

Upon completing years of missionary work throughout North America, South America, and Europe, I returned to the United States to join the military. After being injured and subsequently medically retired as a disabled veteran, post 5 years of service from the United States Coast Guard, I have recently graduated with my MSW in clinical social work and am seeking a part/full-time counseling position. I am skilled in social work case management and have experience in group and individual therapy, CBT and ACT modalities, along with equine, veteran (PTSD), youth/adult substance use disorder counseling, and Biblical counseling experience.

United States Coast Guard 2001 – 2006

Marine Science Technician

–Conducted safety and security inspections, enforcing maritime and security regulations.

–Performed vessel boardings as a port state control officer to ensure compliance with applicable domestic laws and international treaties.

–Conducted commercial waterfront facility inspections to ensure compliance with safety and security federal regulations.

–Performed shipping container inspections for hazardous material and structural compliance.

–Worked as part of a boat crew to preform harbor patrols and continuous training exercises.
