Capabilities and Competency

Yasinta is a holder of Masters in Public Health, a Degree in Home Economics and human Nutrition and a Diploma in Education with a cumulative working experience of 13 years at different capacities. I begun my carrier in 2007 as a Biology and Nutrition teacher where I worked for four year and later on in 2013 she joins the Public Health Programs as a Project Officer for Nutrition with World Vision Tanzania. While working with World Vision Tanzania, I have experienced working with Local Government Authorities, Regional and Councils Health Management team for a community and facility-based project to address maternal and child nutrition gaps where she builds her understanding on how the health systems in Tanzania works. In 2017 I joined Amref Health Africa Tanzania at a capacity of Project Officer for Maternal, Child, Infant and Young Children nutrition interventions implemented in Simiyu and Mwanza Regions. I also experience engaging Local Government Authorities, Community Structures, Council and Region Health Management Teams, Ministry of Health, PORALG and the Nutrition Programs. Given my performance and ability to manage relationship with government stakeholders, I was offered an opportunity to support COVID 19 response urgent support (PACKARD & AFENET) for continuity of health services and later on COVID 19 vaccination (MASTERCARD FOUNDATION) where she spearheads high performance in project regions I am a self- motivated personality; I am competent in identifying and managing gender issues, identifying, managing and monitoring of health related issues, providing technical support to Government at different levels, with fast to learn and easy to cope with different working environments; a hard-working person and capable of delivering quality work on deadline and good team player with high sense of humor and friendliness; an excellent communicator with strong oral and written communication skills, Management and networking skills, strategic planning and research skills, strong analytical and policy analysis skills and posses strong negotiation skills.

WORKING EXPERIENCES:

PROGRAM OFFICER

WORLD VISION TANZANIA-SUSTAIN PROJECT, 2013-CURRENT Responsibilities:

• Support capacity building of health staff and other stakeholders in the community, to design and integrate Maternal, Newborn and Child health and Nutrition growth and development interventions into their working areas.

• Networking with Government leaders in villages, wards, divisions and District Offices for smooth activities implementation, monitoring and reporting in Singida Rural, Mkalama, Ikungi and Iramba Districts Maternal Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition Project catchment areas.

• Prepare and follow up on project activities to Community Health Workers and Council Health Management Team.

• Assist in the identification and documentation of the best practices, acceptable and workable strategies in addressing maternal and child mortality, malnutrition and food security as well as to facilitate communities to integrate best practices and workable strategies in Singida Rural Mkalama, Ikungi and Iramba Districts.

• Coordinate and supervise health and nutrition trainings in consistent to National health and nutrition plans

• Working closely in collaboration with district RCH Coordinator, resource persons, Divisions and wards RCH focal persons, reproductive and child health staffs, health education officers to ensure integration of maternal newborn and child health/ nutrition at the community level

• Collecting, analyzing and interpreting health and nutrition data for maternal, newborn, child health in the project area and facilitate health information system at community

• Facilitate training on maternal and child monitoring tools, technical notes and guides on EmOC, IMCI and assess Maternal and child Nutritional status

• Promote and involve male parents to meet the nutrition needs of Pregnant women, lactating mothers, newborns and young children

• Mobilization and sensitization of community on MNCH and Nutrition interventions

• Provide monitoring of the Project to ensure compliance to set goals/targets and standards

• Prepare and submit accurately and timely Monthly Progressive Report.

• Update monitoring tools as per Project M&E plan and ensure use of appropriate tools in collection, compilation, analysis and utilization within the project
