Administrative Clerk
Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Franklin, IN
I began with the Sheriff’s Office after leaving Versiti as this offered me and my family a better work life balance and weekends off with my children. I began in the reception area for the jail where I delt with the genal public to process bonds, gun permits, peddler permits, finger printing, and case report processing. During my time as the receptionist I also doubled as an admin for the Jail Commander where I helped implement new procedures and worked heavily in excel to develop and improve existing forms.
I was then promoted to Book Keeper which allowed me more flexibility in my schedule and opened a new path for growth for me. In this new role I was responsible for all accounts payable and accounts receivable for the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. I made daily deposits for the cash accounts and processed credit card claims along with vendor invoices each month. With this new role I still had my passion for training so I continued training the front reception area along with taking on office supply ordering for the department and package receiving.
My final promotion was to Civil Process where I handled warrants and civil processing for the entire county. I was responsible for processing and inputting new warrants into our local system and our statewide systems as well as removing the warrants once the suspect was arrested. I was also responsible for processing all civil paperwork that came through the county to include evictions, property seizures, notices to appear, summons, and court orders. In this role I worked heavily within our local system to conduct monthly audits of active warrants to ensure we had the most up to date records.
