Electrician with Customer Service skills

Skills

Custom er Service

Satisfying the customer and their needs with the best possible solution has been priority in every job I have held.I enjoyworking with the public whenever I have the opportunityand am generally well received. I seek to actively listen to hear what othersare saying and what they arenot. I also like to teach others something if possible to help them in even a small way. I like to keep others, especially customers, informed as thoroughly as possible with any relevant information in as timelyof a manner as possible.

Electrical

Over the last 20 years I have much experience in electrical work. Most has been residential (receptacle/switch installation/replacement, installing new circuits to electrical panel which passed home inspector's audit before home sale, installing new pantry light with refrigerator style switch in pantrydoor jamb, circuit breaker replacement, install/replace light fixtures, ceiling fans, etc.). Recently, I have worked for a startup handyman company as the resident electrician with greater responsibilities and duties.

Construction

Over the course of time, I have amassed roughly 2.5 years of construction experience working with various contractors. Materials include concrete and wood. This rises sharply when personal use is considered. I also have over 20 years of fork lift experience.

Computer

I am very computer literate. I have experience with both, Windows 10 Pro and Apple (Jaguar through Monterey). I have experience with word processing, spreadsheet, even antivirus/anti-spyware, and many other applications. I also built the last three Windows PCs I owned from scratch and assembled them myself, and repaired two MacBooks Apple said couldn't be repaired. Work experience

Forex Trader Oct 2021 - present

Self employed

I have had to learn the principles requiring significant amounts of discipline in risk and money management, sorting good trades from bad ones and best trades from good ones, and the psychology surrounding the entire process from start to finish. It has been extremely beneficial in helping me to think in terms of probabilities rather than absolutes. It has also helped me to identify patterns with greater efficiency. All of these are translatable into other real world activities at different levels. Probabilities can help prioritize to-do lists of various kinds or even time management particularly where deliveries are concerned. Risk management is helpful when dealing with other people’s time and money, but the Landrum, SC

psychology factor brings the most weight of them all. It requires to think and act very differently if you are ever to become a profitable trader, ie. Trading psychology dictates to remove your emotions from the equation or suffer one loss after another. You cannot be emotionally driven before or after a trade if you intend to ever be successful. Same thing applies to the real world. Your reaction cannot simply be an emotional one; it must be intentional, rational and based on relevant information at your disposal. Having and trading a forex account is like owning and running a business albeit a non- traditional type of business. Once you become a profitable trader, losses incurred are congruent with business expenses while wins are congruent with profits. Business losses are always higher when just starting out and may last for a year or more; That is congruent with trading’s learning curve which take anywhere from a year or three. You have to also learn and know when to pay yourself or leave it in the trading account. Call Center Operator June 2022-July 2022

BPO American

Fielded calls according to script (most of the time). Much was dealt with including accepting payments for parking, parking/speeding violations to scheduling appointments and troubleshooting a multitude of issues within a given set of parameters. Maintained my cool with a level head with irate customers either helping them achieve the purpose of their call or processing them through to the one(s) who could. I handled totally beligerant callers who were well beyond irate, somewhat shy callers, those who knew the answers already whether they truthfully did or not, Unemployed - Job Searching Mar 2021 - Oct 2021

Invested many hours filling out over 100+ applications in this time period only to get replies from 5. Most applications were on LinkedIn (but not limited to), the major site that has had questions raised about the validity of the job postings that were listed. When it became clear this was becoming a dead end road, I invested in myself in working to become a forex trader, which can take up to 3 years to begin to become profitable (which if maintained would be Oct 2024 for me). My primarydutywasdelivering fresh product in a timelymanner. I was also responsible for the maintenance on the deliveryvan and the recordsof it in the logbook. As I learned how thingsworked together in-store and out, I grew in efficiency and ability to forecast. As needed and able, I helped inside the store with various duties, freeingme to help driversat other storesat the end of the day, which happened often during anymonth. I stayed long hoursmany timeshelping.Whether that was helping our own 'fruit experts' inside the store to close - and for at least two, helping them to learn themanaging of their time to leave on time, and that with mebeingoff the clock - to helping the other store drivers finish what theyhad. During our three busiest timesof the year - Valentine'sDay,Mother'sDay,and Christmas (all three lasting for most of the week) - I was responsible for coordinating the pre-arranged temporarydrivers' routes, fielding any phone calls from them or from deliverycustomers, and tracking their deliverieson the pay sheet. I helped and encouraged them as much as I could where I could. The new store manager and I improved our store efficiency through process improvementsand improving two-way communication, ie. my first Christmaswe did not leave until after 9pm; By mysecond Christmas,we were all able to leave at store closing (unless I was helping another store). During slow times,I performed extraneous duties such as in-store equipment repairs or maintenance, inventoryallocation or rearrangement, deliveryvan repairs or maintenance, and produce purchasing. I also served as Maintenance,Quality,Safety,Cost and HRspokesat different times. The exposure gave me a good overview of everythingworking together, and more depth when issues arose within each spoke duty. As Production spoke, I inventoried our stocks and our in-house customersstocks and needs everydayupon arrival.Communication with HRspokewasessential for having manpower on-hand,as I was tasked with not only determiningwhat we ran for the day,but for manpower allocation as well. If there were any issues with anything that would affect production, I informed the necessary individuals to limit downtime as much as possible, for ourselves and for our customers. Pressure was constant the last 5 years there and I learned to work quite well under it.Our immediate supervisor

(aka BusinessUnit Leader,or BUL) was an asset for me there in supportingwith guidance/coaching whenever I - or anyone -would become stuck. I was forklift certified for myentire time at Michelin. About my 2nd or 3rd year there, I took a type of Maintenance Aptitude test they offered and passed with a 92. It included mechanical problemsaswell as electrical problems, including gear directions,3d schematic reading, and circuit tracing through various componentswithin a diagram. That program, lasting only 2 years, ended before theywere to send me for training. Education

Engagingmymind as well as myhands in work is satisfying. The challenges were at timesdifficult, but not insurmountable. Being self-motivated and thirsting for knowledge and experience has helped propel me forward. Working in the electrical field, though in the non-professional as it has been, has been rewarding. Helping fulfill projectsand ideas, and returningmalfunctioning items to a safe working condition. Gratifying.Productive. Learning aspectsbeforehand and during of manypointsof construction haswith certaintybeen a significant help in growing in what initiallybegan with curiosityand bloomed into something like a hobby. It has been an asset that I was able to draw from - at least in part - during the mid- part of last year. Mydesire is to continue to grow in this field that still stirsmycuriosityand interest while striving to provide customerswith safe, dependable service and solutions and to become a verified asset to the companyand co-workers.
