Corporate Counsel, Banking and Financial Risk

2020 - 2022: Patriot Software • Remote - (SAAS Accounting and Payroll Company for 50k+ businesses in all 50 States)

Provide leadership, management, and strategic direction for the Customer Service team, Risk and Banking team, and Tax team. Serve as go-to legal resource and subject matter expert; contract review and negotiation, corporate governance, vendor management, payment rail infrastructure and regulatory compliance, banking relationships, product development commercialization, risk management to support the Banking Group operations, strengthen financial and regulatory compliance posture, identify & mitigate risk exposure, and safeguard corporate assets.

Support all aspects of the product development process from a technical and legal perspective; provide guidance in the areas of tax compliance, customer onboarding, potential fraud triggers, software bug management, operational improvements, user experience optimization, and risk mitigation strategies.

Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a suite of contracts: NDA, SaaS, Joint Ventures.
