Major Career Accomplishments

●Personally selected by the Office of the Chief Information Officer-DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) to spearhead the effort of standardizing IT designs within the areas of military construction projects, building automation systems, physical security, uninterruptible power supplies and heating, air conditioning and ventilation.

●Centralized Standards and Architecture within the DoDEA environment with regards to building automation systems, military construction procedures and physical security requirements as they relate to IT. Instituted a standardized process by which all areas of DoDEA (America, Pacific and Europe) can refer to for guidance on the above areas. Thus far, the streamlining has created more efficient design models thus reducing cost and mistakes.

●Consulted with the Physical Security Chief in incorporating IT standards with regards to door controls, gate controls, standardized software, asset management, data retention and FIPS 201 compliance. These guidelines are currently being implemented in all new MILCONs and additions throughout the organization.

●Worked with Hyper V from its inception successfully creating multiple servers over multiple platforms with varying specifications. Managed local community AD with regards to directory tree, groups, users, workstations and printers and any function that occurred such as inherent rights, trusted user, and administrative accounts.

●Dedicated the last 10 years to researching policies of the agency with regards to IT support, purchasing, vendors, and outside agency interaction. Work directly with CoE, vendors, and facilities management, on a daily basis, to coordinate design and development of ongoing projects, implement changes within the specs when acceptable, notify all stakeholders of changes, and monitor the changes impact, if any, when implemented.

●Coordinated effectively with 15 of the DoDEA AM communities implementing a standardized UPS/HVAC solution. Each location had its own physical and geographic constraints(data center size, humidity remote location, electrical constraints) that had to be identified and addressed with not only top management but also the AE firm, the CoE, Facilities Management, electrical contractors, HVAC contractors and the local authority. This was completed successfully over a 3 year period and in 2 phases. To date, this solution is still in place saving over 30% in energy and providing an effective data center environment.

●Analyzed and reviewed 33 MILCONs, at various stages, with minimal need of supervisory intervention. Recently concluded a 3 year project that incorporated the latest UPS and cooling technology into or Global Center of Excellence. This not only integrates with our current software and infrastructure but takes the Data Center from and Tier 1 to a Tier 2/3 environment, decreases the chance of worldwide system failure impact and maximizes resources while cutting cost but up 20 50%.

●Accelerated critical solutions to such areas as VoIP issues, switch issues and server issues relied heavily on my skill set, on all networking levels, allowing for flexibility and other interpretations.

●Successfully integrated DoDEA IT guidelines into MILCON projects. Coordinated directly with facilities, corps of engineers and vendors to establish baseline standards to create a transparent working environment. Forged these standards on all new construction and construction under 35%.

●Remodeled the entire data center outlines for 15 communities, forging new designs in rack layouts, uninterruptible power supplies and air conditioning.

●Engage directly and accurately with all parties within a project parameter. Forged a healthy and successful working environment with the facilities engineers, corps of engineers, architectural and engineering firm and outside vendors when researching military construction, building automation systems and HVAC issues

●Launched the initiative of centralizing building automation systems. Initiated a plan incorporate system drawing in to military constructions projects and outlined the vision for the main data centers

●Successfully created a MILCON checklist with a short suspense but was able to recently successfully complete a 3 year Data Center UPS/HVAC project.

●Facilitated a working model for information flow of various web based applications; adhering to the strict requirements of the information assurance policies.

●Successfully took control of SCCM and SCOM in the staging environment of AFDS.

●Successfully took control of VCenter in Staging to include all facets.
