Project Design Strategies:

Allotment most of the time during preparation of Electrical Design as required, particular on big and complex both government & private projects.

Adoption of Electrical disciplines specialized in preparing ETAP, Short Circuit and Lighting calculation, Grounding calculation and related calculation software; specialized in Low Current System, Fire Prevention & Grounding System; Electrical QA/QC; specialized in preparing Cable routes; specialized in preparing small Power and Lighting System; dedicated CADD operator, Document controller / Secretary for Electrical Team Design.

Looks for ways to improve engineering design and design processes in a particular discipline.

Conceptualize and Develop complete Electric System Power (Distribution) Single Line Diagram as required by client; likewise in coordination with Mechanical (HVAC, Plumbing, Sanitary and Fire Protection System), Telecommunication and related Automation System, Low Current System

(i.e., Fire Alarm, CCTV).

Engineering shall include responsibility for the large projects from concept and schematic design through construction documents to construction and up to commissioning.

Perform site visit surveys to determine engineering strategies for renovation for documentation & guides and evaluate existing systems.

Develop equipment/substation layouts based on Hazardous area and other engineering criteria.

Perform Electrical Equipment sizing calculations and selection of equipment based on applicable standards and local client standards.

Develop LV/MV raceway design, OHL distribution system design (13.8 to 34.5kv).

Develop equipment specifications- cables, bulk materials, transformers, Switchgears, control gear and all the necessary supporting calculations and deliverables.

Supervises and directs all Electrical Engineering and design personnel on the assigned project team.

Participate in Design Review Meetings, Vendor Meetings and Lead technical workshops act as Technical Authority on the subject.

Monitors all engineering, design, 3D CAD and CAD drafting activities to assure conformance with the Client and/or Company specifications, governing codes, and good engineering practice.

Develop proposals, concept designs, and trade studies for projects. Prepare and present technical aspects of projects during internal and external design reviews.

Ensure coordination with other disciplines is effective for each project. Provide guidance and advice to all within the project discipline.

Develop methods and procedures to improve efficiency of the discipline.

Ensure latest Rules and requirements are understood by all within the discipline.

Review, Check and Approval of all engineering deliverables produced by the discipline.

Ensure all design engineering procedures, codes and standards. Project Management and Technical Improvement:

Review and respond to contractors / subcontractor and approved vendors design, material and calculation submittals.

Support project management with schedule, budget, and scope tracking and analysis.

Assures that every effort is made to meet the project schedule within the budgeted effort hours allotted.

Makes decisions with regards to manpower, staffing and scheduling of the project Electrical team effort.

Keeping abreast of industry and technology changes and trends, and recommend changes in approach and services as appropriate.

Develop complete Electrical Power Distribution System for Oil- Gas/Petrochemical project involving AIS design, GIS design and related requirements.

Select Power Distribution scheme and Bus Bar arrangements. Perform Techno Commercial studies for these selections including life cycle cost analysis.

Perform HV equipment sizing and selection of Generators, Transformers, Reactors, Capacitors, Breakers, CT, PT, Cable, O/H Line and associated auxiliary equipment like DC Battery Chargers, Station Transformers, AC UPS etc.

Perform Power System Studies like Load Flow/Short Circuit/Transient Analysis/Harmonics in Electrical software.

Specify the Protection Schemes for Power Distribution System and carry out Protection Settings and Relay coordination curves. Page 6 of 10

Develop indoor/outdoor substation & Gantry design/layouts related to 66- 69kV/110-115kV/220-230kV/ 380kV substations.

Develop/Review HV, Over Head Line (OHL) design - 66-69kV/110- 115kV/220-230kV/ 380kV.

Develop HV underground cable systems & layouts related to 66-69kV/110- 115kV/220-230kV/ 380kV and submarine (for OFFSHORE).

Develop MV/LV power distribution system typical to hydrocarbon plants.

Develop specification and scope of work for material/services tendering process and conduct Technical Bid Analysis, review vendor documents.

Familiar with HV power system concerns and mitigation studies.

Good exposure to equipment installation practices, site construction concerns and mitigation.
