AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE

I learned how to sign language at home since I was about 9 yrs old because I had an older sibling who was born deaf. So as I grew up I learned more each time and by the time I was of age to really understand that having a deaf sibling was the only way to communicate and understand her needs as well as her understanding my needs. It gave me an opportunity to communicate in the real world with those that are less fortunate than I was, the Deaf, Hard Of Hearing & Impaired.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Through out my early teen years & into my adult life I have volunteered my services with nonprofit organizations such as:

• The American Association of the Deaf-Blind

• Muscular Dystrophy Association

• The Lions Club

• Elderly Care

• Catholic Social Service

• The American Red Cross Association

AWARDS

• Miss Teen Guam Hemisphere 84'

• Miss Teen Hemisphere Photogenic 84'

• Miss USA Teen Magazine 85' (inside cover)

• Miss International Dream Girl 85' Philadelphia, PA

• Miss Guam World 86' (Top 10)

• Miss Guam Universe 87' (2nd Runner UP)
