Prestige Marketing Team, LLC, Biloxi, MS to present
Currently operating my vendor company supplying quality tours to this national vacation ownership company. Supervising three OPC locations, and 6 employees.
Silverleaf Resorts, Branson, MO June, July, August 2014
After a two month grieving period, I was recruited by my former boss at Festiva to move to Branson and book in-house tours until a management position opened with that company. Worked closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to retrain the current staff to increase penetration, all while consistently booking 75%+ of owners (no front line at this site).
Bluegreen Resorts, Gatlinburg, TN January 2014 thru March 2014
Was recruited to return to the Smoky Mountains to assume the role of OPC Manager, however the position was put on hold temporarily until closer to the start of the “season” so I worked as an OPC. Was a top performer often with the best numbers of the week in this difficult winter market. Unfortunately I had to resign this position when my teenage daughter was killed the end of March, 2014.
Festiva Development Group, Hot Springs AR 2013- 2014
As Marketing Manager, I was hired to start an OPC program for a brand new sales center in the Hot Springs Village area and oversee the in-house marketing efforts converting deeded weeks to points. Established relationships to acquire new marketing relationships. Developed compensation plans and SOP’s for a start up aspect of marketing the company had not before realized. Hired and trained over twenty inexperienced solicitors. Achieved highest VPG consistently while maintaining efficiencies far exceeding expectations.
Westgate Resorts/ CFI, Williamsburg, VA 2012-2013
Based on tremendous success as an independent broker I was recruited as Director of Marketing to head up a complete refit of the company’s marketing efforts in this difficult and depressed market. I established relationships with all the major area attractions and contracted with them to offer their tickets at a reduced price in exchange for OPC locations at many of them. I established a ground breaking relationship with the Williamsburg Hotel/Motel Association that included a discount ticket sales center in their Greater Williamsburg Tourist Information Center, used for the purpose of booking tours, booking mini-vacs, and lead generation. Through this successful relationship I also gained access to marketing ability in their member hotels and past guests. Increased tour flow and sales volume by well over 60% during the “off season” winter months of November through April. Much of this increase was due to revamping the onsite marketing efforts and pushing non-owner penetration to over 35%.
Prestige Marketing Team, LLC, Virginia Beach/Williamsburg, VA 2009-2012
As CEO and Founder of this independent marketing company I built from the ground up a team of professionals that represented, at various times, a successful Vacation Club (A world of Getaways) and three different timeshare companies (Goldkey Resorts, King’s Creek Plantation, and Westgate Resorts). Developed relationships with various community and industry leaders to acquire locations while developing a staff and wide sweeping marketing plan.
Westgate Resorts/CFI, Gatlinburg, TN. 2008 to 2009
As Sales Representative worked the front line of the sales floor selling ownership of timeshare intervals to prospects.
Bluegreen Resorts, Gatlinburg, TN. 2007-2008
As Assistant OPC Manager duties included overseeing and training new OPC’s. Also responsible for tracking effectiveness of employees and redefining their roles in this saturated market. Was recruited to move to this area to work closely behind the scenes with Assistant Director of Marketing with heavy emphasis placed on correcting what was an unacceptable APG in a highly competitive market.
Goldkey Resorts, Virginia Beach, VA 2000-2008
As Marketing Manager/ Certified Trainer duties included overseeing and training approximately 100 new OPC’s each season. Also responsible for developing new and innovative programs to increase lead generation and maximum booking flow, while maintaining an overall APG in excess of $2400. Also developed and supervised an aggressive regional marketing effort through tradeshow and event exposure to maximize the “off season” and contribute to year round employee retention.
New York College of Advanced Studies, New York, NY 1998-2000
As Dean of the Institute of Business and Economics duties included writing and teaching courses online in the fields of Advertising/Marketing, Judeo/Christian religion, Ancient Literature, and Middle Eastern Antiquity. Further duties have included the development of the curriculum of the Institute. Also served as Managing Director for the state of Virginia.
National Cry for Children, Richmond, VA 1997-2000.
As Founder and Chairman of this non-profit organization I was responsible for coordinating volunteers, writing position papers on complex family issues relating to children, drafting legislation for the Virginia General Assembly, chief lobbyist for this organization both at a state level and on Capitol Hill in Washington, and hosted a weekly TV show in the Richmond area.
Sanders Consulting Network, Richmond, VA 1993-1997
As Vice President/ Director of Business Development, I developed and implemented a wide reaching international marketing plan for the firm. Sanders Consulting is the world’s largest consulting firm working strictly with advertising agencies and focuses specifically on areas of strategic growth with strong emphasis on sales training. I was also responsible for sales in the eastern region of the USA and served as support consultant to our European clients. I was a specialist in "diagnostic" consulting, aiding some of the largest advertising agencies in the country in fine tuning their own international marketing efforts.
Business Resources International, Inc. Richmond, VA 1987-1993
As CEO of this advertising and consulting firm I implemented all the skills and strengths I had acquired over the years and marketed them to a large group of small and mid-sized businesses. I hired and trained approximately 20 employees, was responsible for the administration of the company as a whole, developed and coordinated all advertising programs, created sound relations with the public, and produced a weekly TV talk show for business owners.
Prime Time Rentals, Richmond, VA 1985-1987
As Marketing Manager I developed and implemented numerous marketing and promotions programs for this company, I also managed a retail outlet. In addition I trained over thirty other store managers in sales technique, management, and customer service skills.
