Ericsson Western US Manager of New Site Installation/Testing/Integration

Ericsson

Aug 1999 - Jan 2001 (1 year 6 months)

Went to Ericsson as an RTS Supervisor of Cell Site Installation, Commissioning and Customer

Acceptance. Had a team of about 20 contractors I trained to fully install a complete cellular site for TDMA and GSM. Work began with an empty room or shelter and the BTS, ladder rack, earthquake bracing, batteries, external alarms, T-1's, Rectifiers etc.. were installed and tested. I managed the team, hours, equipment procurement, customer acceptance and quality audits for the region. Also had an TDMA 884 cassette conversion project which was performed during the maintenance window 11PM-Midnight for which I most often had to provide onsite support, a very complicated process which involved recabling and reconfiguring the old site with new equipment and writing new data translation, thousands of lines for each site. At that time sites were not GUI driven and you had to know unix/ translations and all proprietary Ericsson commands very well to bring a site up using Winfiol.

Senior Field Engineer III

Jun 1996 - Jul 1999 (3 years 2 months)

1 of 8 people hired with prior military advanced electronics training to participate in FTAP (Field Training Apprentice Program) which was a two year program AT&T Wireless developed to certify telecommunications technicians. Included build a cell certification in Seattle, all BTS/BSC and Switch certifications for Ericsson in Richardson Texas. A phone book sized technical task list which required signatures from an assigned mentor for all field related tasks- ie. sweep testing, T-1 testing, microwave testing, CDPD testing, data translations expertise, external alarm testing, base station installation and commissioning, drive testing, trouble ticket resolution, NOC expertise, COW (Cell On Wheels) deployment and CDL license training, Cell site preventative maintenance, adding radios, retunes, optimization. Attained Tech Level 3 while at AT&T

IoT System Design: Software and Hardware Integration

Course is designed to have learners understand how systems are developed using IoT.

Many engineers and developers tend to focus on one discipline, either software or hardware. However, in today’s age a comprehensive understanding of both disciplines and how they are interlinked is needed. This practical, hands-on course will give you a holistic understanding of system development from software and hardware perspectives. You will develop your own embedded system, learning as much from your failures as your successes as you go along.
