Job responsibilities:

* Safe and responsible driving: Operate the taxi in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and regulations. This includes observing speed limits, using turn signals, and obeying traffic signs.

* Passenger service: Provide friendly and courteous service to passengers, including helping them with their luggage, opening doors, and providing assistance when needed.

* Vehicle cleanliness and maintenance: Keep the taxi in a clean and tidy condition both inside and outside. Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.

* Navigation and route planning: Use GPS navigation systems or maps to determine the most efficient and direct route to passengers' destinations. Remain updated on road closures, traffic conditions, and any other factors that may affect the route.

* Managing Payments: Collect and process payment from passengers, including handling cash or operating electronic payment systems such as credit card machines. Maintain accurate records of fares collected.

* Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatchers or control centres. Report any significant incidents, changes in schedule, or other important information promptly.

* Knowledge of local attractions and landmarks: Possess knowledge of the local area, including major streets, neighbourhoods, attractions, and popular destinations. Be able to provide recommendations or information about these places to passengers.

* Handle emergencies and difficult situations: Remain calm and composed in stressful or emergency situations, such as accidents or unruly passengers. Follow protocols for handling such situations and seek assistance when necessary.

* Time management: Manage time effectively to ensure on-time pickups and drop-offs. Respond promptly to customer requests and maintain a reliable schedule.

* Operating a commercial truck safely and responsibly, following all traffic laws and regulations.

* Load Management: Loading and unloading cargo onto the truck while ensuring proper weight distribution and securing the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit.

* Route planning: lanning the most efficient and safe route to travel based on the destination, considering factors such as traffic conditions, weather, and road closures.

* Vehicle maintenance: Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in safe working condition. Checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights, and other essential components.

* Documentation: Keeping accurate records of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, delivery receipts, and any required permits or documentation.

* Compliance with regulations: Adhering to federal, States, and local regulations such as hours of service regulations, weight restrictions, and transportation industry standards.
