I have worked at Queen Dental Center for 17 years since June 2004. The center was well known in the region for its high reputation. I have worked in General dentistry, Endodontics and Orthodontics departments. Due to strong command of general dentistry, I was able to carry out variety of procedures like root canal fillings, simple and compound restorations, post and core build ups, in-lay and on-lay restorations, crown and bridge preparations, dental veneers and cosmetic fillings, bleaching and whitening, surgical and non- surgical extractions, root planning and periodontal curettage.

I used to treat kids of different ages. I was also very popular among the staff and patients for treating kids with love and affection. I always found it very easy to handle agitated and nervous child patients. I carried out procedures like pulpotomies, apexfications, fillings, fissure sealants, stainless steel crowns, extractions, space maintainers, and habit breaking appliances.

I used to fabricate and design mouth guards like stock, boil and bite for contact and non-contact sports as per the nature of sport and athlete requirement. In 2010 I got involved in stem cell and tissue-engineering research at University of Alberta Canada. The project was funded by Qatar National Research Fund at Qatar Foundation. We pulsed Gingival Fibroblasts with low intensity ultrasound to regenerate sever periodontal defects and severe Orthodontically induced tooth root resorption in animal models. Our objective was the development of a reliable technique to treat tooth root resorption and periodontal disease by regenerating the lost tissue in Humans. I have worked 2 years at the tissue culture & bio-engineering lab at University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada and I had performed and mastered several lab procedures and techniques like. LAB PROCEDURES:

• Cell Culture on tissue biopsy.

• Expanding the Cell Culture.

• Freezing Cells from Existing Stock.

• Starting the Cell Culture from Frozen Cells.

• Cell Counts in Multi-well Plates.

• Extraction of Bone Marrow from Rats.

• MTT Assay in Multi-well Plates.

• Alkaline Phosphatase Assay (for Cells Grown on TCPS).

• Calcium Assay.

ANIMAL TRAINING:

I have completed 2 stage animal training part 1 and part 2 courses and exams and was trained for handling and restraining beagle dogs and mice. I have operated on more than 30 beagle dogs and have performed various orthodontic and periodontal surgeries including creation of surgical flaps, creation of artificial bone defect, crowns preparations, extractions, Accomplishments Publications implantation of stem cells and flap repositioning with sutures in operating theater under full general anesthesia. I have performed several other procedures under sedation as well.

MICRO CT IMAGING & ANALYSIS:

I have worked and got trained in performing Micro CT analysis at University of Alberta. I have worked with SkyScanTM 1076 Micro-CT imager using the vendor-supplied imaging control software (Version 2.6.0; SkyScan N.V., Kontich, Belgium. Raw image data was reconstructed with NRecon software using a modified Feldkamp back-projection technique.

Reconstructed 3D renderings of analyzed tissue model was viewed using specialized software (CT Volume: Realistic 3D Visualization, Version 1.10.0.5, SkyScan N.V., Kontich, Belgium). HISTOLOGY & HISTOMORPHOMETRIC ANALYSIS:

I have got trained and have performed histomorphometeric analysis. The tissue sections were removed in block forms and sections were stained with Crossmon's modification of Mallory's triple stain and examined under light microscopy.

ESTABLISHING A STEM CELL TISSUE ENGINEERING FACILITY IN QATAR: We have established a cutting-edge stem cell research facility with the help of my Principal Investigator.
