Review leave authorizations and medical status of employees who are on leave due to illness or injury and facilitate a successful return to work. Engage in the interactive process with employees; counsel and interact with employees returning to work, supervisors, management control agency representatives, physicians, State Fund adjusters, and other involved in resolving return to work issues. Process employee Request for Reasonable Accommodations, Limited Light Duty Assignments and employee Request for Ergonomic Evaluations. Serve as the institutional liaison to injured employees and the CDCR Office of Employee Wellness. Track employees who are off work for non-work related injuries/illness. Provide status updates to Personnel Specialists and Supervisors and at the Monthly Warden's Review meeting. Act as chairperson for the Return-to-Work meetings with institutional management. Assist employees with disability retirement paperwork and submit the required information to CalPERS. Review all Medical Personnel Actions; consult with management on options and assist with developing or responding to requests. Plan, organize, develop and conduct Workers' Comp, Return-to-Work and ADA training for managers/employees.

Overall responsibility for the Inmate Vendor Package Program vendor application process; posting annual 30 day notice for prospective vendors, reviewing vendor applications to ensure applicant(s) meets the specified criteria per Departmental policy. Responsible for maintaining and updating all field and office vendor files; conducted semi-annual price comparison using the Internet and on-site audits to obtain prices; and, conducted quarterly catalog and website reviews. Maintained the unit's vacancy report and out-of-state travel requests. Assist with policy development, procedures and practices related to inmate property, including all property exemption requests to ensure consistent and timely responses were done.
