My plans are to provide an environment that is welcoming to all patients including patients, students, staff, and faculty. I am CPR BLS & ACLS certified PALS (04/28/2023), Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certified, and a mental health first aider. I am able to triage in order to provide quality of care for patients. I am self- directed individual and organized. I have worked in Rio Grande Regional Hospital as Out-Patient and endoscopy nurse. I admitted patients and prepared them for surgery. I recovered patients after surgeries and procedures like Colonoscopies, EGD’s, Thoracentesis. I also did infusions
(chemotherapy and blood transfusions). I was a School Nurse. In the school setting, I feel that my role is diverse: I helped people of all ages who need health care and health information. I can provide coordinated care, I worked with parents in finding them resources and services. I work together with administrators to better serve and enhance a student’s health and learning. I started IV’s and accessed PAC every day and administered chemotherapy.

Advance Care Center/DHR
I assess patients everyday before accessing them through PIV or PAC in preparation for IV premedications and chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration. Scheduling appointment for continuation of treatment. Assessing patient for negative reactions and treat patient with hypersensitivity, adverse reactions, or anaphylaxis to chemo/immunotherapy treatment. Collaboration of treatment with doctors and pharmacy for correct dosage of treatment.

I assessed patients (elementary students and high school), observed, and treated then accordingly. I kept in constant communication with parents, teachers, administrators, nurses, doctors to coordinate care for the student’s health. I encouraged and taught the importance of immunizations; I developed nursing care plans according to the diagnosis. I am familiar with the ailments of children and am comfortable providing care. I performed special procedures such as urinary catheterizations. I help parents find services and clinics. I provide them with vouchers. I issued medical referrals when applicable. SCHOOL NURSE
