DUTIES ACCOMPLISHED AS PHARMACY-IN-CHARGE IN ECHS

POLYCLINIC, UNDER MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

1. In dispensing of drug, a complete review and interpreting physician’s orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities, informing available substitution, controls medications by monitoring drug therapies, advising interventions. 2. Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing pharmacy assistant’s workflow, verifying their mode of dispensing, patient counselling, arrangement and maintenance of medical store.

3. Providing pharmacological information to healthcare professionals by conducting a monthly conference which helps to improve and implement better functioning of pharmacy and to provide extended health care to patients.

4. Maintaining pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, referring professional publications, internet, confer with doctors and other health professionals. 5. Maintaining of all registers and records in pharmacy as well as expendable and non-expendable of every stores i.e. X-Ray, Lab, Physiotherapy and Dental, controlled drugs, removing out dated and damaged drugs from pharmacy and inventory. Preparation of report/returns in respect of receipt/expenditure of medicines and updating every information in computer too. 6. Here Inpatients are referred to empanelled hospitals and should verify and prepare their discharge medicine/ costly non available medicines claim bills of patients.

7. Special medicines i.e. narcotic and oncology drugs are kept in special storage rooms under lock and key and maintain separate ledger for that too. All cancer patients are referred to our empanelled hospital and we are providing medicines to that patients. In oncology drugs all oral and parental chemotherapeutic drugs are maintained separately. These medicines are arranged in shelves according to their pharmacological categorization. Prescription and medical records of these patients are also kept separately 8. Advises management on needed actions and contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 9. Returned medicine by patient is also taken in ledger charge. KEY SKILLS
