Human Resources Manager – November 2018 – May 2023 – Compass One Healthcare, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

(HR Manager Position eliminated for EVS 1/2023 and contract with F&N ended 5/2023.)

Responsible for multiple EVS/Housekeeping and Food & Nutrition accounts for the FMOL Healthcare System which include, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Lake Children’s Hospital, Lake Livingston and Lake Ascension, with managed volume of approximately $36 million. Provide leadership, advice, policy and procedure support, and strategic direction to a team of 26 Managers and approximately 850 staff.

Improved Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores with a 30% increase in targeted areas over 3 years at the company’s largest client, while maintaining other accounts above 90th percentile based on hospital targets, assisting FMOLHS with their reimbursement plans and overall patient satisfaction.

Developed an interactive dashboard focusing on targeted HCAHPS scores and key client performance indicators.

Created several new recruitment and pipeline strategies for frontline team members in a challenging labor market.

Coordinated and managed the business continuity and pandemic plans to support and protect the client staff, patients and associates for a healthcare system with over 5000 staff and 1020 patient beds.

Created “Milk & Cookies” which was a group of volunteers consisting of frontline staff, which met to discuss findings of Engagement Survey results to assist in ways to improve overall staff satisfaction and current process. This led to an increase from 30% - 78% of staff engagement participation over 4 years, increasing staff satisfaction to over 75%.

Created and developed a staff retention plan which reduced turnover from just over 60% to less than 30% within a two-year period.

Owner – February 2013 – November 2018 (Opened October 2013) – Barnyard for Tots Learning Center & Daycare, LLC, Prairieville, Louisiana

Sole ownership of daycare with a maximum of 75 children ranging in age from 6 weeks to Pre-Kindergarten. Daycare was sold to Corbin Learning Center in 2018.

Oversaw daily operations and growth of daycare.

Managed 23 full-time and 12 part-time staff members while maintaining the business financials/payroll.

Managed all ongoing education of childcare staff as well as the learning agendas for all age groups.

Updated website to improve parent/teacher communication with business updates, closures and upcoming events.

Maintained nutrition of children ranging in age from those able to eat solid foods to Pre-Kindergarten.

HR Consultant to Physicians, Physician Practice Administrators, Office Managers and Supervisors for approximately 60 physician-based clinics as well as The Baton Rouge Rehabilitation Hospital and Baton Rouge Radiology Group (with two clinic sites).

Onboarded 8 new physicians for Primary Care, Diabetes, Orthopedic, Radiology and Cancer Clinics, and managed and led the design start-up for 3 physician clinics within a 2-year period.

Liaison to physician clinic sites, BR Rehab Hospital and 2 locations for BR Radiology Group, assisting with hiring, retention and counseling of staff members

Assisted over 60 physician-based clinics, BR Radiology Groups and BR Rehab Hospital with preparation of Joint Commission surveys

Successfully completed Joint Commission onsite surveys for all clinic sites under General Health Systems with no findings associated with any clinic.

Managed and led Resident rotation interviews and recruitment

Coordinated externships within the clinic sites with area Trade Schools

Provided leadership and staff training for over 60 clinic sites, BR Radiology Groups and BR Rehab Hospital.

Facilitated unemployment claims/hearings and processed exit interviews and terminations and maintained metric scores on turnover and retention.
