Professional Experience

Design Engineer at HCL Technologies (HCL R&D Services) (Jan, 2021 – Present) Main product designing category: Consumer Electronics Appliances/Products (Electro- Mechanical products)

Roles, Working domain and Responsibilities:

1) Product Design, Product Development & NPD:

Software used: Solid Work, Siemens NX and PTC Creo 2) VAVE, Reverse Engineering, Benchmarking, BOM & Cost improvement:

• I was in charge of the overall product redesign and development when one of my customers presented a problem statement regarding a coffee roaster's serviceability, cleanability, and functionality issues. (Includes subassemblies such the wifi module enclosure, roasting chamber, heating chamber, glass panel, gate mechanism, hopper duct, exhaust duct, and PCB brackets, among others.

• For the coffee roaster project, I was in charge of designing plastic parts, sheet metal, and machined parts (with tolerance stack up).

• I was also dealing with vendors at the manufacturing facility to understand the manufacturing challenges that raise product lead times and manufacturing costs, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and also improve product manufacturing costs by optimizing the design.

• Responsible for managing top level assembly with all cad drawings.

• I designed tracking devices, as well as integrated and constructed IP67-compliant enclosures with digital microphones, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, light sensors, and replacements for traditional batteries.

• I improved the structural design of HVAC and visi-cooler goods. (components such as the capillary tube, evaporator, condenser, and sheet metal body structure)

I performed value engineering and analysis for Visi-coolers, refrigerators, ram connections, QSFP connectors, OSFP connectors, Hard coolers, air purifiers, dish washers, robotic vacuum cleaners, and water purifiers.

I created a bill of materials, benchmarked all of the aforementioned products, determined where the customer's product stands in relation to its competitors' products, what the reasons for lagging are, identified performance problems, and identified the integration of additional features that would make the product stand out with the best performance and minimize cost.

Using a creative strategy, I was able to cut the cost of visi-coolers by 10% by enhancing the product's design, which mainly involved structural adjustments, increasing volume capacity, and looking for alternative suppliers and materials for electronic devices without sacrificing performance.

Similar to visi-coolers, I reduced product cost without compromising performance by optimising the sheet-metal design of the ram, OSFP, and QSFP connectors. Non-Technical Skills

Research trainee at DIAT (Defense Institute Of Advance Technology) 2019 – 2020

Responsible for designing/innovating Membrane for desalination of seawater.

Responsible for membrane manufacturing using Electro-spinning process.

Responsible for membrane testing.

Published paper at international level for unique design membrane design who have self- capability to resist back pressure.

Intern at Atlas Copco Pvt Ltd (Jun, 2019)

Responsible for the creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution.

Responsible for the generation of a strategic plan to improve the business processes and production output of organization by creating and maintaining quality standards and testing systems. (Products: High, Medium & Low volumes compressors) Education

3) Proof Of Concept Building & Testing:

• I designed, developed, and tested a cold coffee prototype that uses peltier (60W) and heat sinks to make instant chill coffee. By replacing the condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, capillary tubes, and compressor with peltier and heat sinks, I was able to reduce the product's overall cost by almost 90% and make it portable.

• I designed, tested, and developed a carry and dispenser that helps serve drinks to customers. These products are useful in stadiums and crowded areas where customers can order the cold drinks they want without having to leave their location; instead, a serving person will arrive carrying a bag that contains the cold drinks under CO2 pressure and will serve them to the customer.

• I designed, tested, and developed a smart shelf that houses snacks and is mostly utilised in vending machines. Load cells and Arduino IOT logic were used to create this prototype.

• I did mechanical design of Instant juicer prototype which building is in currently in work in progress.

4) New Feature Integration & Fixture development:

• I designed, tested and integrated force measurement fixture (with load cells) with respect to handle angle movement (with potentiometer) in coffee products. Converted all raw data into quick sync up data with the help of lab view software.

• I developed automatic milk line cleaning setup which helped customer to eliminate the additional expensive setup.

• I developed logic identification setup which helps to get information how the products brain works.

• I enhanced aroma of coffee product by modifying body and needles design.

• I design and integrated turbine setup into coffee product to convert continues water dispense to pulsuating water dispense.
