CAPT Jeanne M. Lewandowski was born in Plattsburg AFB, NY. Graduated from the University of North Dakota in December 1991with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduation, worked at Altru Medical Center, Grand Forks, ND as a staff nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care. In June 1997, became Director of Critical Care at St. Mary Corwin Hospital Pueblo, CO. From August 1999 to May 2001, attended The University of Phoenix earning a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration and Education in Critical Care. In February 2001, accepted the Director of Critical Care at St. Michael Hospital, Milwaukee, WI. In August 2002, took a position as an Advanced Practice Nurse for the critical care services/cardiothoracic program at Community Memorial Hospital Menomonee Falls, WI.

July 2003 commissioned to Lieutenant in the US Navy Nurse Corps. After completing Officer Indoctrination School in Newport, RI, reported to Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA and served as a staff nurse on the Intensive Care Unit and six months later took the Clinical Nurse Specialist role on the Multi-service ward. Completed the LA Trauma course in April 2005 and then deployed to Kuwait Oct 2005-March 2006. June 2006 completed Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCAT) Training and reported to the USS George Washington (CVN-73) as the Ship’s Nurse. Served in a temporary position aboard the USS John C Stennis (CVN- 74) and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and received SWMDO warfare device. August 2008 was assigned to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth as an ICU nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist for the cardiothoracic program. From August 09 to April 2010 deployed to Camp Bastion Role III hospital, Afghanistan serving as inpatient Intensive Care Division Officer and theater En Route Care Instructor. Between April 2010 and August 2011, served as the Division Officer for a 15 bed Progressive Care Unit which cared for the cardiac and vascular patients.

August 2011 took orders to the Marine Corp 2d Medical Battalion, CLR 25, 2D MLG, Camp Lejeune, NC, serving as the S-3 training Officer for 4 months and took over as H&S Company Commander and acting XO role. Hand selected to deploy with OEF as the Patient Evacuation Cell Coordinator OIC Jan 2013-Jan 2014 with II MEF FWD, received FMF warfare device. Upon returning from deployment was assigned to 2D Med BN as the S-1 Admin Officer. Commander Lewandowski completed the Air Command and Staff Distant Learning JPME Phase I, June 2014. Promoted to Commander in Sept 2014.

Graduate of Naval War College with a MA in National Defense Strategy and Policy June 2015. Reported to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune July 2015 as Department Head of Staff Education and Training until 1 April 2017, appointed as Interim Director of Quality Management. August 2018 transferred to Naval Medical Center San Diego as the Officer In Charge (OIC) for NTC and Kearney Mesa Branch clinic, NMAWC and Subbase dental clinics. Lead an amazing and intricate team of 375 AD and civilian staff at NMRTU Point Loma, Kearney Mesa and ASW dental clinic on point Loma. Serving over 19,000 beneficiaries and 106 tenant commands. Promoted to Captain in Sept 2019. July 2021 was transferred to CAPT James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center and is currently the Director of Clinical Services for the outpatient clinics.

Reports to the Executive Officer and is tasked with ensuring care is administered in compliance with Federal and State regulations, DoD/DHA/BUMED policy, designated regulatory agencies, as well as that of professional medical organizational standards. Responsibilities include: Leading 400 civilian, contract and active-duty personnel in the delivery of medical support to Naval Station Great Lakes (NAVSTA GL), Naval Service Training Command, Recruit Training Command (RTC) and numerous supported commands located throughout a 12-state region. Overseeing daily operations of three Branch Medical Clinics (Fisher, Tranquillity, and Red Rover) located on RTC and NAVSTA GL, and the sustainment of multiple national accreditations. In processing of over 40,000 navy recruits per year and 1,800 ROTC students.

Director of Primary Care

Responsibility for observing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating all activities of Eight dynamic clinics. Care in these clinics is administered in compliance with state and federal regulations and meets professional medical standards, Navy policy, and the requirements of designated regulatory agencies. The Clinical Director, Primary Care is directly responsible to the CME and managing all Providers, nurses, and MSA’s. The Medical Home Port Clinics provide care to about 10,000 active-duty service members, dependent family members and retirees annually. The Clinical Director of Primary Care will have oversight over the Outpatient Primary Care program including Medical Home Port (Internal Medicine/Family Practice/Pediatrics), VA Primary Care, and the three Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). This responsibility also overseeing Women’s Health and Whole Health Departments. The Clinical Director of Primary Care also sits on the Board of Directors and Quality Council.
