Assessment of credit worthiness:
Reviewing the credit requirements for customer. This includes collecting essential information and evaluating the same, such as business details, financial statements, bank references, trade references, and credit history etc.
Conduct market research to Evaluate customer's industry and market conditions to assess their creditworthiness
Use of credit scoring models or credit rating agencies' assessments to quantify the customer's creditworthiness.
Risk Management / Credit Risk:
Establish clear credit policies and procedures that define the criteria for granting credit, credit limits, payment terms, and risk tolerance levels.
Understanding & monitoring customer's business environment helps evaluate the associated risks.
Establish early warning systems that trigger alerts when predefined thresholds or warning signs of potential default or deteriorating credit quality are detected.
Develop effective collection strategies to promptly recover overdue payments
Continuous monitoring of collections:
Negotiating and specifying payment due dates, accepted payment methods, and any applicable penalties or incentives for early or late payments with the customers.
Maintain proper documentation of invoices and related correspondence to track payment status and resolve any disputes.
Continuously track and update the aging reports to monitor the progress of collections and prioritize follow-ups
Managing systematic process for sending payment reminders to customers as invoices become due or past due.
Addressing billing disputes and work with the appropriate teams or departments to resolve them
Building strong customer relationships can facilitate prompt payment and potential future business opportunities

Liaise with external debt collection agencies and coordinate with company legal department to recover long overdue payments in case of disputes
