Teacher

Learn and Play PreSchool - Branford, CT

August 2022 to Present

I am currently a teacher in Pre-K as head teacher and fill in for waddler room (1-2 year olds) . I work hard with my kids day in and day out, as if they were my own. I come in in the morning at 7:30 to set up my room for the kids for the day. At 8am I start greeting my kids and their parents and get them settled in with low key table experiences like puzzles, matching games, practicing their writing, shape making, Legos, play dough, building, coloring, and/or sitting with them and talking, etc. We have morning snack from 9-9:30. From 9:30-9:50/10am we have circle time which includes my kids spelling their first and last names, addresses, identifying the day of the week, the month, the year, the weather and season. I will pick 1 or 2 simple key words for the day (ie it, to, the, on, etc) have them spell it, sound it out, then have them use the word in a sentence or 2. We read the Bible passage for the day, then a corresponding book for that day's theme, say the pledge and last, one good thing about themselves and/or someone else. Each day of the week we have a "Special" like dance, music, chapel, tae-kwon-do and Fridays are called Fun Fridays, where each week we have a theme and something fun to do that goes with it (the kids love it). We will then either go outside (whether permitting), go to the inside play room and/or do center's. Lunch is at noon. Nap time is anywhere from 12:30-1 until 3pm. When they get up, they have afternoon snack while getting their bearings. During snack I gather all their things, put them together and have them ready for 3:30-3:45 which again, weather permitting, we either go outside (not during the winter when it gets dark early) or into our big inside playroom until pick up at 4:30 (5:30 if they have late pickup except the summer when we close at 4:30.) A. B. C Learn With Me - Branford, CT

October 2019 to March 2022

I was a floater until I got my own classroom about 8 months after i started. I taught in the toddler room, ages 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years old and I loved it. We used tablets to check the kids in and out, record lunches, diapers and/or toileting for the ones I'm potty training, how long my kids nap, lunches, projects, communication with parents and activities. I also sign in and out in the tablet. This is a description of the day:

I come in at 8:00am (earlier a lot) and gather my kids. Check in all the kids as they come in and feed the ones who bring their breakfast. 9 am we have morning snack then diapers/bathroom right after they're done. 9:45 we do a short project. 10 am we have circle time. I go around and have them say their names and ages and sing a song for each kid. Then we sing our ABC'S and do ABC flash cards with them. After that I have each kid tell me the color of their shirt, have them find that color on my wall of colors and sing another song for each kid while they each get up and do a little dance. We then count english and spanish. I then do shapes. I have each one, individually, get up, point to each shape on my shape wall, tell me what color and shape it is and sing a song for each of them while they do another little dance. Next we go over the weather, if it's sunny or raining, snowing, windy etc. Last we sing our book song and then read a book or two. At 10:30 we go out to our playground if it's not raining and in the summer I'll do water play with them outside. 11am we come inside, wash hands, diapers and bathroom before lunch. From noon till 2pm they nap. After nap, diapers and bathroom before p.m. snack. They have free play until 3:30 and I take them back outside until 4pm. They come in, wash hands and have their last snack. They have free play, reading books, dancing etc until we go home at 6p.m. Housekeeper
