Responsibilities

As the Medical/Administrative Secretary, I was the first person to welcome patients to our office. I was in charge of taking phones off or on from our services as needed. I was responsible for returning phone calls from the answering service. I was responsible for pulling charts and paperwork for the day, making changes to chart and if necessary to computer file Called patients for next day appointments, to make follow up appointments, or for appointments at alternate locations, i.e. radiology, labor and delivery unit, mammography, colonoscopy as well and scheduling surgeries between office and surgical unit.

Created files, packets of information for handouts, daily filing, copying and working a multi-line phone. Accomplishments

I enjoyed working with our team of nurse, midwife, doctor and medical assistant, creating a smooth run through our day of appointments and working quickly to create and book urgent appointments for incoming and outgoing patients, and handle complications when they arose.
