EXPERIENCE

Navi Health (Optum/UHG), Brentwood, Tennessee November 2020–April 2023

Data Exchange Team-ETL

DATA EXCHANGE ENGINEER

•Led development of SQL Stored-Procedures and SSIS Packages, to support the ETL processes to and from clients, partners, and vendors.

•Most of our ETL processes used a Custom Configurable Workflow to Transform and Load data into ‘Raw’ Tables from any format that was supplied: flat-files, delimited-files, CSVs, Excel, XML, EDI. These tables are left as the partner supplied them but are then Transformed into Tables for our need to go into our Care Management system.

•These Incoming and Outgoing ETL files consist of the following data: Provider, Census, Eligibility, Beneficiary, Authorization Requests Acknowledgements and Appeals, Final DRG (Diagnostic info), Plan RX, Hospital Claims, Plan Claims, Master Reference Data, External Vendor Data, Case Management, Data Management, Vendor Facility, Patient Support, Clinical Documents, and miscellaneous files.

•Developed and Maintained SSIS packages to move Tables from our Production ETL environment to other production environments such Data Warehouse and our Care Management CRM platform. Also maintained the scheduling and automation of these processes.

•Used BitBucket-GIT & SourceTree (along with Tortoise) Version Controls for all the SQL objects. Maintained "Branch Integrity" between my Feature-Branches and the current Release-Branch as well as the Main/Trunk-Branch. Octopus software was used to deploy the Release-Branch of code to multiple environments at once.

•Primary developer in converting to a new vendor that supplies vital healthcare industry Master Data of all Providers in the US: Hospitals, Clinics, Facilities, Affiliates, Doctors, and Associations. The import files include data on Professional Specialties and Organization Affiliations, Accreditations, Licensing, Pharmacy and Prescription data, as well as Entity-Organization and Parent Company information.

•Maintained internal Audit Tables and their corresponding SQL-CDC Tables when changes are made to the source tables. The Audit Tables are copies of the CDC Table, allowing the archival of the data longer as the CDC Tables are flushed regularly.

•Set up internal jobs and Stored-Procedures to Audit and Purge certain tables using an age-variable specific to each table. This process required the scripting of the DROP of Key Constraints (using system tables, not hard coding these keys) and re-Creating them after the purge.

•Used Ecrion 3rd-party software to automate the generation of all insurance/medical/healthcare letters to the patients, populating the letters with real-time information from the database (stored-procedures/queries) and queuing them for the variable mailing processes.

•Created a new process, Tables and Stored-Procedures, to load SICC Assignments (Skilled Inpatient Care Coordinators) to Skilled Nursing Facilities in bulk, saving the users considerable time from their cumbersome input process to assign SICCs manually. This occurs with new contracts or large expansions of existing contracts into new states/facilities (multiple times each year)

•Maintained the Stored-Procedures to Down-Merge new contract data from Production to all other environments. These environments are other Production Servers as well as lower environments such as Stage, QA, UAT, DEV, HotFIX, Performance, and others.

TRINISYS, Brentwood, Tennessee November 2018–November 2020

Healthcare Document Archival/Storage and Retrieval

HEALTHCARE DATA ENGINEER

•My primary function is to migrate the client’s data and documents from the Health Care EMR system they are currently using to the Trinisys Clearview system which is focused on document archive, storage, and retrieval at a much cheaper cost to the client than their current EMR system. The process used batching and parallel processing across multiple nodes, utilizing a load-balancer.

•Familiar with the database structure of several EMR systems, querying directly to the database to extract data: McKesson HPF (Horizon Patient Folder) systems, NextGen HER/EMR systems, GE Centricity RIS (Radiology Information System), Greenway Intergy Prime suite.

•Used HTTP calls to interrogate and extract data and documents from Allscripts A4 system.

•Used Auto-IT scripting to simulate user printing of medical records from the GE CPN (Centricity PeriNatal) systems where direct access to the database is prohibited (old Windows platform). The automation being driven from a file of patient IDs, simulating a person Selecting Patients and Printer various reports.

•Used Amazon S3 API for cloud storage of documents where applicable in the scripts.

SQL DEVELOPER, April 2018–November 2018

•Using the Trinisys Convergence platform and SQL I migrate the client’s data and documents from their current Health Care EMR system to the Trinisys Clearview system for document/data storage and retrieval.

•Leveraged my SQL experience to improve the queries used to extract data from the EMR databases, using MS-SQL, MySQL, and Oracle SQL.
