Production Planning Manager

Tetley Tea - Greenford - November 2000 to May 2002

• Involved with daily planning, short, medium and long term planning of International teas.

• Responsible for the planning software INORDA5 and responsible for ensuring that this data was transferred correctly to SAP R3 system.

I was responsible also to ensure that the factory relocation went smoothly from a production and stock inventory point of view and to ensure that there were no delays to customer shipments.

• I was responsible for liaising between the factory and the materials management side including tea buying.

• I was involved with new projects for new flavours of tea ensuring that project deadlines were met and also that any promotions were met on time.

• I was also responsible for outside contractors who would pack tea that could not be done in the main factory ensuring that they had the necessary raw materials to start with and to ensure that our requirements were met on time.

• Computer literate, able to use Excel, Word, Publisher, Powerpoint and Access. Also able to use SAP R3, Adaytum, Dispatcher - a warehouse and stock inventory tool and INORDA5 - planning tool.

• I was responsible for bringing International tea inventory to a minimum without compromising customer service.

Gapi Ltd - Welwyn Garden City - April 1998 to November 2000

• Responsible for setting up the computer network and ensuring transfer from DSM to GAPI with regard to customer service went as smoothly as possible. As the company in the UK was a new start up, I was responsible for setting up the company software including sales order processing, purchase order processing and inventory.

• I was responsible for planning production of 6 different areas of PTFE production to ensure that customer orders were met in the shortest possible time.

• I was also responsible for purchase ordering and negotiating of some raw material prices.

• I was responsible for Warehouse Management, ensuring that customer orders were met, inventory was controlled and also negotiating the best courier/carrier to deliver the products at the best possible price.

• I was later given personnel responsibility when the Production Manager left the company. Various Positions

• Started in 1992 as a sales co-ordinator which meant answering the phones to customers, taking telephone orders and faxed orders, entering them into the computer system to ensure customer delivery. I was also responsible for following up any Technical enquiries and for handling these as and when they arose.

• I was also involved with the transfer from the Siemens Nixdorf system to AS400 system. I was also awarded the prize for best sales co-ordinator

• I transferred from this department in 1994 to the Quality Control department as a Quality Engineer and was responsible for ensuring that the company met and held its ISO9002 requirements.

• I was also responsible for following up customer complaints regarding product quality and ensuring that the mistake was not repeated. The company also introduced a Continuous Improvement Program and I was responsible for two of the projects. The company also introduced a Kaizen program of which I was one of the two team leaders. I was also responsible for one specific machined parts project that supplied a small piece of breathing apparatus as a part of a whole rescue suit to Rescue Helicopters.

• I was transferred from this department in 1996 to Production Manager of a small manufacturing department. I was responsible for purchasing the raw material, marketing, production planning, production, personnel, inventory and quality control of this item. I successfully managed to reduce inventory stock without compromising customer service and managed successfully to launch a new product.

• I transferred out of this department in 1997 to PTFE Production Planning Manager and was responsible for day to day scheduling of the workload, reducing inventory and general customer service. Student intern
