WORK EXPERIENCE

Fme, llc, Sr. Project Manager – Danbury, CT Jan 2017 – current

Remote position for Project management at fme involved managing multiple projects, including budgeting and forecasting expertise, building project charters, project plans. authoring PMO artifacts and execution of SDLC gate check processes and ensuring User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is complaint with the client’s requirements. As a Program Manager, I was responsible for interacting with clients and supporting project managers using a PMO structure that I helped develop. Assisted in the establishment of an fme PMO office that is ISO9001:2015 certified as a Program Manager. fme US is a leading supplier of Enterprise Content Management consulting and technology services to the Life Sciences Industry. Processes and procedures were developed and implemented to ensure compliance.

Utilized Agile methodology to implement IDMP framework into an existing Veeva system for a major pharmaceutical company(Abbvie) using AWS infrastructure. This required migration of the internal infrastructure to the AWS platform. This also included the initial Analysis and Design, Development with a team of 5 resources, all validation testing including SIT, OQ and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through to Production implementation and deployment while maintaining financial and project timelines. The client had a fixed completion date based on external financial constraints which required constant communications with senior management and the ability to adjust the schedule and demonstrate flexibility.

Program manager for an international effort for a large European based pharmaceutical company(Boehringer Ingelheim) that required coordination between multiple groups in both the US and several European countries (Germany, Romania). Multiple project managers were part of the team supporting this multiyear effort. The project is using Agile methodology extensively from the Analysis and Design, Development, Testing (both SIT and UAT), Quality Assurance and Validation Phases. The technology platform for the migration is Azure. This project includes over 100 resources on both continents.

Implemented the Life Sciences Quality Management (LSQM) in Catalent beginning in early 2021 and completing in December using waterfall methodology. The OpenText Documentum Life Sciences Solution Suite Quality and Manufacturing (LSQM) module provides for the electronic management of controlled documents. Initially working with a team of business analysts to identify and develop requirements. Transitioned to managing a number of offshore resources responsible for modifying the ootb solution provided by OpenText, test and deploy in less than 11 months. The project underran the budget by ensuring any changes were identified and vetted by the client business users. The migration of paper and multiple electronic source systems was also managed with a separate team of US and Romania based fme employees with a separate project plan that needed to dovetail with the Implementation project. This project required developing and implementing a new network infrastructure for multiple countries spread across multiple continents and time zones. A mobile application was implemented as part of this project to allow employees and customers to interact with the data in the AWS data store and provide updates in a real time basis.

Implemented Salesforce Marketing Cloud as an internal project to expand sales and utilize existing customer data more effectively.

Worked closely with the project sponsors, client senior leadership and project managers to align schedules and ensure any difficulties were raised quickly and early to minimize their impact. Initial sites migrated on time and within budget.

For AbbVie implemented the CARA Intelligent Content Services Platform for RIM, Regulatory / R&D, Safety, Clinical, Nonclinical, Quality GxP, CMC, Pharmacovigilance, and Medical Information / Medical Affairs over a 18 month period ending in early December, 2021. The effort included multiple full migrations of over 8 million documents with a team of 10 developers and analysts using AWS. Worked with the client migration team to build a close relationship to allow issues to be resolved quickly. The project required Okta and Single Sign On (SSO) implementations. The team was willing to work through the Christmas holidays to deliver a quality product.

Project manager for a Life Sciences Research and Development (LSRD) Documentum implementation for a large pharmaceutical international company using a waterfall methodology. Responsible for presenting to senior management on a monthly basis. The project involved over 30 developers in the US, Canada and Romania for one year. Coordinated with over 15 legacy organizations in multiple countries on a range of country specific regulatory issues. Project required requirements analysis, development, testing, and multiple deployments. Jira was used to manage requirements, issues and defects. Over 5 existing systems were included as part of the migration of over 4m documents.

McKesson Corp, Solution Architect - King of Prussia, PA Dec 2013 – Dec 2017

Managed a development effort (over $3m) using onshore and offshore resources for McKesson Network Management Product for (Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield) a healthcare company in New Jersey. Worked remotely supporting clients in California, Michigan, Florida and New Jersey. Developed and responded to RFPs and SOWs for new clients.

Helped turn a healthcare payor project behind schedule and over cost back under control and on schedule by using Agile techniques and improving the entire requirement process thereby reducing customer change requests. Also introduced automated testing that improved overall quality and improved test coverage. Managed a team of 20 using Python and J2ee that included offshore resources.

Developed a web based front end using .net, J2ee and sql server that extended the functionality of an existing legacy platform. Led the design sessions with the user community for the front end.

Cited repeatedly by management of Excellus for dedication, knowledge and thoroughness of my support. Mentored a young team to achieve stretch goals. Developed a MDM(Master Data Management) process to allow migration of cleansed data into a new system.

Managed a team of 5 working on redefining the end-to-end tracking of the Pharma R&D pipeline from bench to patient for McKesson Pharmacy Technology and Services using Documentum. Migrated the initial Sharepoint solution to Documentum to take advantage of the superior search and workflow process available. In addition, the primary users were already familiar with Documentum.

Responsible for RFPs and SOWs responses for over 20 projects worth $20m. Managed a staff of 10 responsible for sales and project management. Company focused on scrum/agile methodology. Specialized in Master Data Management (MDM) for a foreign government agency and a large manufacturer(Panasonic) to streamline the goal of creating a trusted and authoritative view of a company’s data to allow proper data governance.

Developed a complete governance process (PMO) for multiple Fortune 100 companies with operational control. In this role functioned as the Program Manager for multiple clients. Used by Alteva(a leading VOIP business provider) to manage customer implementations.

Developed RFP for The New School for it’s student online portal by gathering requirements, evaluation over 5 Software As a Service products. Project managed the successful implementation of the product within budget and timeframe.

Extensive experience in the Public Sector with projects for NYC Housing Authority and NY State implementation of Single Sign On security systems.

Created a master Information Technology plan for the Zimbabwe Department of Education to encourage/promote IT skills in the growing young population to reduce brain drain. Partnered with several large computer manufacturers to provide low cost PCs along with training. This included significant infrastructure configuration and deployment.

Project managed an implementation of custom software for Aetna that managed the workflow of covered entities from subscription, card fulfillment, and prescriptions to claims by migrating parts of the custom software to a microservices architecture with a team of 10 using Microsoft .Net technology in VB and C# and using AWS. This allowed faster response time for critical areas of the application. System generated over $10m in savings.

Implemented several large Point of Sale(POS) systems for Panasonic with national hospitality chains over a three year period.

Responsible for developing and implementing a Voice over IP(VOIP) platform for Panasonic using Panasonic telephones with custom billing, and telephony services provided by state of the art network provider(Broadsoft) for Unified Communications. Establish a call center with procedures and methods for 100 call representatives on a 24/7 basis to support the VOIP platform. Implemented an eCommerce platform with a network infrastructure configuration to support a national rollout of the service that was scalable and robust.

Implemented an Identity Management (IDM) system to increase security around user access for Panasonic along with Workday as means to match HR and finance environments.

Managed several large delivery projects for USAA insurance in the areas of customer contact and call center operations.

United Healthcare (Ingenix Consulting), Business Analyst - Hartford, Ct Jan 2007 – Dec 2011

Project managed a data quality project at a Fortune 500 Health Insurer that highlighted over $100m in savings from data improvements in systems and processes. Maintained a Sharepoint site to capture lessons learned and institutional knowledge.

Implemented a software solution to analyze large claims and reduce fraud and unnecessary payments by building a model of fraud type claims utilizing FACETS data. This model was used to compare to claims and flag potential discrepancies early in the process. Processes and procedures allowed staff to request and scrub potentially fraudulent claims before processing. Effort reduced erroneous claims by 20% and was implemented companywide using Documentum. The original project used Microsoft Access and word/pdf documents which required a great deal of manual effort to maintain, update and search. This meant a great deal of effort had to be made to capture and include emails. Microsoft Access could not handle the volumes involved. A study was conducted comparing Sharepoint and Documentum solutions. Sharepoint lacked the search capabilities available through Documentum with a web frontend.

Provided statistical analysis for OptumRX, a United Healthcare company to improve pharmacy benefit management using SQL Server and a web based front end with Java.

Developed and managed a team to perform customer focused testing for large scale healthcare systems including FACETS(Claims processing) and web based customer facing systems.

TMCG – Sr. Manager - New York, NY May 2002 – Jan 2007

Boutique consulting company focused on technology strategy and integration for communications companies. Extensive experience in Telecom Billing systems. Managed ten direct reports and a staff of 150 responsible for RFPs and project management.

Supported additional improvements to the Emergency 911 system to expand the New York e911 to for the entire Verizon footprint.

Implemented an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to reduce the manual burden of paperwork and improve the billing process for several small to medium medical practices.

Implemented a COTS billing system for ATT for billing of 800 services responsible for $1b annual billing.

Created and implemented a Program Management Office (PMO) for ATT that employs offshore resources for development and onshore resources for design. A formal methodology was implemented based on ISO9000, ITIL and CMM using the Rational Unified Process (RUP). Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance in the identity management area (IdM) was the primary area of development for the company. Over 39 projects controlled and implemented successfully.
