PROFILE:

5 years of experience in welding inspection, especially in oil and gas, petrochemicals in QA/QC and construction. Capable of doing all inspections before, during and after welding. Able to prepare daily Welding Inspection reports, weld maps, coordinate with clients, calculation of welder percentage repair rate, inspection as per WPS & PQR. Having ability to read and understand Isometric drawings. Familiar with International Codes & standards like ASME, ASTM, AWS & API standards etc.

The quality plan shall be detailed with quality assurance and control by inspecting, witnessing, monitoring and reporting the activities associated with material receiving, storage, structural steel, plant piping, welding, static equipment and tanks.

Perform project or plant inspection to ensure that all activities are properly executed conforming to the approved procedure and specification. The examination includes but not limited to material verification, visual inspection with or without instruments. The control of project QA/QC inspections involve multi- level inspections like surveillance, witnessing, review and hold points for each phase of construction activities.

KNOWLEDGE OF INTERNATIONAL CODES & SAUDI ARAMCO STANDARDS:

ASME B31.3, ASME Sec-VIII- Div-1, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME B16.25, AWS D1.1, AWS D1.4 API 650, API-1104, ASME IX, ASME Sec II Part A, B and C, ASTM Standards, Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards and Specifications.

DUTIES &RESPONSIBILTIES:

Follow up WPS and monitoring welding to ensure proper application of procedures.

Assuring of only qualified and approved welders are available on jobs by periodical checkups.

Control and monitor Weld defects and impart training to Welders for weld quality performance.

Inspection at various stages like Fit up, Dimensional check, weld visual, PWHT, Geometry check after fabrication.

Witnessing Positive Material Inspection (PMI).

Preparation of daily and weekly welding reports and all other necessary documents and attachments based on ITPand as per client requirement.

Reviewing of approved WPS /PQR / Welder Qualification records.

Check/ Monitoring calibration status of welding machines, inspection tools, electrode oven

Coordinate with Project Manager, Engineers, Main contractors for smooth implementation of Quality system.

Inspection of Heat treatment cycle using WPS, Procedures & codes.

Stage wise inspection of welding.(fit up, root pass visual & NDT, Final weld Visual & NDT)

Review and evaluation of all NDT ( Non- Destructive Tests, such as RT, PT, MT,UT)

Witnessed the welder’s performance qualifications test and reviewed NDT reports, weld summary etc.

Inspect fit up preparation, joint configuration, cleanliness, pre-heat temp, and the welding procedure specification used. Visual examination of root passes, penetration, undercut, cracks, slag, and porosity. Check completed joints for excessive reinforcement, and other surface irregularities.
