Emergency Management Committee Memorial Hermann: I assisted in three full scale hospital disaster drills. My job roles ranged from management of volunteers, managing flow of victims throughout the hospital, coordinating discharge flow of fake patients on to strike team transports as well as assisting in gathering information for after action reports.
Emergency Room Unit Peer Council: I created and managed a social committee for Emergency Room staff. To obtain funds for committee events. I organized volunteers to perform bake sales, with the funds I was able to organize many holiday events for staff to promote staff. I was also able to create an onboarding process working with our graduate nursing team to pair new nurses with a veteran “nurse buddy” to help them integrate outside of work. As well as a gift basket of goodies to be given after they're first week that matched their personalized survey to comfort them in what is normally a very scary and stressful time.
Command Center Unit Secretary - I gained expertise in following many governmental policies (EMTALA, JACHO, MEDICARE) whilst under the immense pressure of Calling doctors for consults, arranging transportation of critical patients, activating STEMI, STROKE, TRAUMA alerts. Many of these tasks must be done simultaneously, in addition to keeping immaculate documentation in order to maintain accreditation. All communication and delegation of tasks were filtered through myself as the Command Center Secretary.
