SUMMARY
A hands-on, proactive director known for installing/directing cohesive, nationally scalable programs over environmental compliance, safety and health and DOT compliance, for companies with fluid, entrepreneurial operations. Known as a positive change agent with an articulated vision, deeply experienced with light/heavy manufacturing and heavy civil construction (OCIP and CCIP), large DoD projects (USACE/NAVFAC) & EM385-1-1 and Fleet Safety Management, Adept as company’s OSHA, DOT, EPA, TCEQ lead. Also practiced in supply chain and contract administration.
SELECTED CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS
Developed/deployed corporate-wide EH&S program, AHAs, competent person roles, training matrix, and employee safety handbook for USFS LLC, a $400M/yr, 1,200 FTE, oil and gas services company. Also developed and deployed company’s fleet safety program and environmental management and permitting program.
Deployed i-pad driven, AHA based, nationally scalable HSE program for Ceres Environmental Services, a $400M natural disaster remediation company with offices in MN, FL, TX, PR and NZ. Refined field training drove TRIR from 2.00 to 1.20 in 10 months. Wrote the safety portion of the company’s Advance Contracting Initiative (ACI) for application with the USACE and company’s field anti-theft/security program responsible for reduced job site theft/VMM related losses.
Wrote/installed/directed operating protocols over EH&S, Claim management and Risk Financing for W-Industries, Inc., a 1,200 employee, $200M/year control systems integrator for the oil and gas industry.
Rolled out corporate EH&S program centralizing all EHS and claim protocols. Installed leading indicators driving TRIR from 2.58 to .76 in a single year. Program passed 12 SEMS II desk-top audits producing reportable metrics enabling return to multiple job sites. Also installed corporate fleet safety DOT/FMCSA program.
Rebid company’s $1B (TIV) P&C insurance portfolio: relocated WC/GL/Auto lines to off-shore captive producing $1M in equity in three years: removed extraneous coverages, increased SIRs/deductibles saving $300k in annual premium: selected oil/gas experienced broker: created liaison with TPA closing 36 outstanding claims with $134k in reserves: assumed contract administration duties reorganizing parts-supplier data base from 400 contracts to 40.
General Managed safety/claims/SW3P programs of the $2B DART “Green Line” heavy civil, light-rail OCIP project in Dallas, Tx. Deployed zero-accident plan and sub-contractor enrollment plan, project-wide training matrix, and field audits. Protocols reduced TCIR from 2.00 to .80 in first full year: Project awarded company founder’s national large project award for EH&S for ‘08 and ’09. Also functioned as internal company consultant to US Army Corp of Engineers projects (FT. Bliss, Ft. Steward, Camp LeJeune, LPV111 (Canal Widening), New Orleans, and internal company projects in Great Falls, MT and Los Angeles Int’l Airport.
