2003 - 2016 worked evenings in the WV Birth to three program.

2016-present: WV Birth to three. Provide face to face and telehealth to referrals made. I administer developmental evaluations or hearing evaluations based on the child’s needs. I have been providing telehealth services since March 2020.

Preschool Special Needs: August 1994 - August 2003

Evaluated and designed a program specifically designed for the individual child. Test results and Medical evaluations were used to develop an IEP. Parents were taught the developmental stages of what their children should be doing. Administered the Battelle Developmental Inventory for those referred to the Preschool Special Needs Program

Hearing Impaired Specialist:August 2003 - April 2016

Designed a program based on the student’s level of hearing loss, medical testing and audiologicals. IEPs were designed as well as assistive technology based on the child’s hearing loss. Auditory skills programs or sign language were provided based on the child’s ability to communicate. Taught children preschool - grade 12. I administered state tests based on the child’s communication. Services were provided by self contained or inclusion. Auditory trainers were also provided to each child would need this assistive technology.

2016 - Present: WV Birth to three

Developmental Specialist/Hearing Specialist for WV BIrth to three.

Provide developmental evaluations for each child. Developmental Evaluations include (E-LAP, BDI(Battelle Developmental Inventory), and HELP.

SKi-Hi Language Assessment used for Hearing Evaluations:

Once evaluated a program is developed to assist the child in developing the language deemed appropriate based on their hearing loss and amplification. (Cochlear implant, BAHA implant, or hearing aids). I work with assisting children to better process sound which in turn assists in developing a speech or communication system. Based on the child’s level of loss speech or sign language may be used. I also assist in interpreting audiograms and audiologicals. Auditory skills programs are also provided.

Based on the criteria of WV Birth to three Eligibility if the child is deemed qualified an IFSP is developed with the multidisciplinary team.

Once the IFSP is developed intervention and strategies are provided to assist the child and family in the child’s area of delay.

Telehealth services are provided. I provide the materials needed to assist the child to achieve their developmental milestones.
