Major role is providing speech therapy services to and evaluating children with speech sound disorders, autism, specific learning disability, fluency disorders, OHI, DD coming from different multilingual and ethnic backgrounds. I am responsible for creating and contributing to Eligibility and IEP reports, conduct meetings as a Case Manager and family/client counseling. In addition to providing services to typical children with speech and language problems, providing services to students from primary and intermediate intensive academic centers (IAC) at certain schools of Highline Public School district. Responsible for referring students whose communication problems require additional evaluation and/or intervention by other professionals; completing required procedures including transfer validations; completing required documentation; evaluation and intervention of pre-school ancillary students. Participating actively in parent’s conferences and counseling parents along with counselor and other team members, consulting with parents, discussing progress of student’s speech and language skills, having Zoom sessions with parents to demonstrate how to implement intervention at home. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, participating in weekly team meetings to discuss and find solutions to concerns of students with specific issues. Principal Investigator for project titled, ‘Mobile Phone Assisted Remote Speech Therapy Program’. Product/ outcome was--- a mobile phone app for assessment of speech sound errors and for articulation therapy. This project was funded by Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Principal Investigator for project titled, ‘Home Auditory Training Program’. Product- software for providing speech and language stimulation and activities for auditory training in children with hearing impairment.

Research Assistant for the UNICEF funded project titled, ‘Development of material for grass root workers for early identification and intervention of speech and hearing disorders’, from 1987 to 1989. The product of this project were booklets and pamphlets in English and two Indian languages for creating awareness among grass root workers for early identification and intervention of speech and hearing disorders’. These booklets and pamphlets are till date available at the Material Development Department of AYJNISHD(D) and are used by the Institute’s beneficiaries.
