Provide feed specification and feed design and least cost feed formulation of the existing products (Best Mix) and upload formulations to ERP system.
Provide shadow pricing of the existing and alternative ingredients, raw material buying plan and feed cost forecast.
Run shadow price analysis for the existing and new raw materials and provide information to the Purchaser.
Provide formulations for the new products and finished feeds quality release parameters.

Responsibilities and duties :
Formulate balanced diets and rations for animals to maximum growth, reproduction, health & performance with the least cost formulation using computer software program.
Regularly visit own farms (CIC Boiler Breeder Farm, CIC Broiler Farm and CIC Hatchery) to direct the general management practices and evaluate the performance (Growth rate, FCR, Mortality, Egg production, Hatchability) of the farms
Visit the commercial customer’s farms (broiler, breeder, layer, cattle, swine) for evaluation and advising farmers and farm managers on techniques for improving the performance of the farms.
Visit customers farms and advise farmers on new technologies, developing procedures regards to improve the production, enhance the productivity and performance, maintaining the quality standards.
Collect regularly the performance data (Growth rate, FCR, Mortality, Egg production, Hatchability, Milk Production…. etc.) mainly in poultry farms, cattle farms and hatchery and evaluate.
Record the performance data to the Nutrition Department and analyze the data with the Standards and carry out evaluation of performance mainly for Poultry, Cattle and Swine farming.
Analyze the quality of raw material used in feeds, animal feeds and feed supplements and evaluate of the nutritional value of the raw materials and animal feeds to ensure the quality assurance and quality controlling systems with the collaboration of CIC feeds laboratory (ISO 22000 standards, HACCP standards, GMP, Quality controlling procedures)
Monitoring the livestock diseases by regular farm visits and advise farmers on preventive and control measures of such diseases and maintaining hygienic practices.
Advising farmers on crisis and issues related to livestock industry such as environmental problems, biosecurity, diseases and planning and implement rick management practices.
Planning and introduce appropriate feeding programs for each type of farm animals in commercial farmers. This includes special diets programs and feeding programs.
Carryout training sessions to farmers in addressing issues relating to animal husbandry. This involves seeking assistance from overseas experts in industry especially in eradicating diseases, new technologies, all management practices and performance enhancing practices of farming.
Conduct feed trails with commercial farmers and feed additive marketing companies in broiler farms, layer farms, our own trail farm and report the performance and carry out evaluation.
Assist in managing and troubleshooting the feed manufacturing process and study new processing technologies regards to better and more efficient production, minimizing operation cost, maximizing energy efficiency, environmental protection considerations.
Direct and coordinating production planning activities in integrated livestock farming
(Feed manufacturing, Breeder farming, Hatchery operation, Broiler farming and Chicken Processing) specially in CIC Farms and filed level farms.
Coordinate and facilitate for undergraduate research students and trainees who are from universities in Sri Lanka for their studies in our CIC feed manufacturing factory, laboratory, broiler farm, processing plant, breeder farm and hatchery. Professional Qualification
