Club Organizer
• The African-American Club (AAC) introduces a diverse group of students to African ancestry by exposing them to various literatures, museums, and ethnic cuisine domestically. The Club takes pleasure in fundraising throughout the year in order to have an unforgettable educational experience out of state. The AAC complies with the NJDOE curriculum by focusing on Language Arts, Social Studies, and Life Skills. The events require strategizing, fund raising, and an enormous amount of volunteered time and supervision of students in various social environments often times outside of New Jersey.
At the onset of the school year, we diligently work on our annual performance for June. We either recognize a NJ celebrity through music/dance, we expose student’s theatrics via a play, or we expose the school community’s talent via LMS#4 Idol. For the past several years, I have had the pleasure of organizing and taking approximately 42 students to Baltimore, MD & Washington, DC to tour The Great Blacks Wax Museum, The White House, US Capitol Bldg, historical museums, and fine cuisine.
