Starting out at this establishment I was a Hospitality Aide for a few months before I got my CNA certification. On a daily basis my job was to complete all vital signs for the patients on my hall, make sure that all of the residents were hygienic and safe. I did all of the charting in between answering call lights, feeding meals, and helping residents shower. I loved working at Evergreen. It gave me insight on many different ways of caring for patients.

Working at the Wichita heart and vascular doctors office for Dr. Palmer was my first job after I got my medical assistant license. On a daily basis I would take patients back into the examination rooms, take their vitals, make sure that the medication on file was correct, and take family history. After finishing the in room procedures I would then see if anyone needed to be checked out or if a room was ready to be cleaned so I could take back the next patient. When all of the patients for the day had been seen I would reside in the front office and prep for the coming days.

Red River Behavioral hospital, Wichita Falls — behavioral health technician/medical assistant

The daily responsibility of a BHT was making sure that all patients are treated with proper care and that they are safe. Every 15 minutes I would do rounds/count. During those rounds I would record where the patient was, how the patient seemed to be emotionally/physically, and if I had found any contraband with them or in the patient's room. The BHT then makes sure that all patients attended the group therapy sessions and/or group activities. Working at Red River will definitely keep someone on their toes but I enjoyed my time as an employee. Working there taught me a lot about how to care for different types of people
