Faulu Kenya Ltd. is one of the leading Micro-enterprise lending

Programme. Faulu has branches in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. As an Accountant for the Faulu Kenya unit, I was based at the headquarters of Faulu Kenya. The unit has five branches in Kenya, and an annual budget of approximately 7.0 million dollars annually.

Primary functions and responsibilities include:

Overseeing Accounting and Financial systems of the Micro Enterprise finance lending Programme - loan processing, loan Tracking, record keeping, repayment processing and preparation of financial reports both for the management and for the Donors. Custodian of head office financial information and payroll.

Our Investment involves the investing of funds in Treasury Bills, Treasury Bonds, Commercial Papers, Fixed Deposits and Cash flow management.

Dealing with the statutory deductions namely PAYE, Service charge, NSSF, and NHIF etc. The work also involves coordination with overseas Accounting, Monitoring and reconciliation’s of staff savings, especially for reporting and accounting information. Bank reconciliation and petty cash reconciliation.

We report using the following currencies: - US Dollar, UK Pound and the Kenya Shilling, as per the various stakeholders’ requirements.

The preparation of the Faulu Kenya monthly Management reports which includes the Ratio Analysis and Variances composition of the various items in the Profitability Statements and Balance Sheets.

Providing the Asset Schedules and Management as per the Donors requirements.

Monthly Monitoring reports analysis.

Administering and in charge of the payroll of the Faulu Kenya staff.

Maintaining accurate records of expenditure and spending forecasts as per the donor requirements.

Any other duties assigned to me by the Finance Manager.
