PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
Project Superintendent, Industrial Chemical Cleaning 2020 - 2022
THOMPSON INDUSTRIAL SERVICES LLC. SUMTER, SC
Key Accomplishments
Led and collaborated on chemical cleaning projects in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.
oUsed Chemicals to dissolve deposits inside industrial pipe systems, boilers, heat exchangers and other industrial apparatus.
oSolved industrial problems as needed where the safe handling of large quantities of acid, caustic, or other hazardous materials was required.
oBuilt external pipe systems to heat and circulate thousands of gallons of semi-solidified pulpwood byproduct using 400 hp diesel pumps in order to evacuate 300,000 gallon tanks.
Safely implemented a plan to reduce the ph in the fiber line at New Indy Containerboard by injecting on average 3,500 gal of sulfuric acid per day for a year. Worked with process Engineers to to track the freed rate and managed the procurement of tanker trucks to keep up with demand. Transferred truck loads of acid from rail cars as needed.
Edited and formatted the Chemical Cleaning Handbook.
Staff Transportation Engineer 2008 - 2015
DAVIS & FLOYD INC. COLUMBIA, SC
Key Accomplishments
Developed a feasibility study for HOV lane additions to I-26 (Charleston and Dorchester Counties) for government agencies and officials
Designed and built new station using shop tools to create an in house production process to bind plan sets resulting in increased flexibility, shortened turn-around time, and eliminating out-of-house printing costs
Developed an electronic filing system to automatically identify plan specifics in the name of each file by scanning and archiving each plan resulting in the easy retrieval and indexing of thousands of documents
Created public friendly information, court and right-of-way exhibits for approximately 15 significant projects within various counties for the SC Department of Transportation
Produced environmental legal documents and wetland exhibits for each project to be approved by the Army Corp of Engineers
Incorporated survey data from maps, plats, and other static documents using applicable computer software to locate existing property lines and significant infrastructure in the electronic files
Identified necessary right-of-way acquisition, existing drainage conditions, and other preexisting infrastructure from the electronic files to inform the road design process
Assisted in the roadway design for SC 642 (Dorchester Road) and SC 61 (Glenn McConnell Parkway) from two to five lanes improving traffic flow, bike paths, green spaces and pedestrian walk-ways.
Provided the legal document (property strip map) for right-of-way acquisition on Phase 3 of Berlin Meyers Parkway to assist in the acquisition of said property.
