Principle focus has included developing, writing and publishing the Written Safety Handbook for the organization in Spanish & English, forming/co-chairing Safety Committees for both English/Spanish language workers, management of the daily EHS challenges for the shipyard, vessels, and fab shop Safety inspections, First Aid, Triage, Incident Management, Accident investigation and Reporting for the approximately 1,000 shipbuilders employed at FBS. Additional responsibilities include: developing/ implementing for tradespersons/supervisors training modules, covering Situational Awareness, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment. Manager: Reconstruction Division

• Effective October 2020, hired to act as the organization’s first Director of Construction Services. Prior to starting, the department was poorly managed by the resident estimator/poorly-trained Project Managers. I fired the estimator/hired new and experienced/college educated estimator/project managers.

• Responsibilities included, completing/closing out all remaining projects, (35 projects at my starting) open and delinquent. Establishing positive relationships with the fleet of insurance adjusters who had to rely on the organization for their customers’ residential reconstruction projects.

• On my 2nd day, I was handed the contracts for a majority of the open projects that had developed into some type of litigation or legal challenge. Same day I met the company attorney and began to compile evidence for the various lawsuits.

• Continually work with company attorney on all legal matters related to litigation due to poor performance and sub standard quality workmanship, failure to complete in a timely manner, and all Wisconsin State TCPA issues and liabilities, including lawsuits, depositions, documentation preparation, and mediation.

• Developed the Departmental Training Program for new hires that included curriculums and training modules for both the Project Manager and Estimator positions, and work with the new employees toward becoming proficient in their new positions w/ duties and responsibilities.

• Perform the Search and Screen and Approval process for all required subcontractors, and provide the paperwork and training for their successful operations and invoicing. Work to ensure all subcontractors had a viable Safety Program for their employees.

• Created the working documents necessary for the successful performance of all reconstruction efforts, including Contract for Services, Draw Schedules, Materials Selection Forms, Change Orders, Certificates of Completion and Satisfaction.

• Work with the Accounting Department to develop processes and procedures for Invoicing and Communicating with customers and clients, including a Payment Program for the dozens of contractors- including the three mechanical contractors needed to rebuild most of the contracted homes.

• Extinguish fires during the Day-to-Day, and work to develop Policies and Procedures (SOPs) for the future of the department and the organization.

• Goals: Manage Construction Services Team of Project Managers and Estimators in Main (Green Bay) and One branch office (Wausau) throughout the Wisconsin and surrounding areas, including: negotiating price/cost for residential rebuilds, insurance payouts, reconstruction budgets, developing solutions to the day to day concerns, subcontractors approval process, re: multiple subcontractors, Estimates and Budgets, Scope of Work, Change Orders, Customer Service & Satisfaction, Health & Safety Programs, and Quality Control, related to a range of residential and light commercial construction and re-construction projects throughout Wisconsin, Northern Minnesota, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Safety Manager

Tectron Tube, Atkore International, (General Industry) - De Pere, WI December 2019 to September 2020

Managed the Environmental Health and Safety responsibilities for the Steel Mill located in De Pere, WI. Including: developed, implemented and grew the company’s Safety Culture & Safety Program, including drafting a finalizing the Written Safety Policy. Managed the EHS Program, including the the many OSHA Fatal Four category workplace hazards, and worked with the Maintenance Engineer/Crew toward Hazard Mitigation for existing hazards in the Six (6) steel tube forming mills, (three large, and three secondary) Industrial metal Slitter, the Laser, the Warehouse, including truck loading and unloading, and the Machine Shop.

Developed/Chaired the newly formed Safety Committee. Worked (successfully) towards achieving/ sustaining an effective Organizational Safety Culture. Developed Safety Training Presentations and follow-up Coursework for the Company-wide Annual Safety Training event. Performed Initial and Regularly Scheduled Safety Audits. Together with the Maintenance Engineer & Team successfully mitigated more than 50 workplace hazards, discovered during my Initial Inspection and Assessment.
