Went to Recorders Court (Traffic Court), Municipal Court and Superior Court as a representative of probation.

Took individuals information and explained their sentence to them

Made sure that the individuals did as directed by the court (pay fines, do community service, get any documentation needed for the court).

While working at the Jail I made sure all inmates are secure and in their appropriate location, made sure that they are healthy on a daily basis, getting their meals/medications pm a daily basis, and any request that any inmate has.

Transporting inmates from one location to another in the jail, to court and/or to appointments outside the Jail.

Sitting on inmates at the hospital if the inmate was in in-patient status.

Helped customers with the design that they would want to put on a garment, bag or any other kind of products.

Processed claims to determined what needed to be done with the claim.

Determined if claim would need to be paid, pended or denied.

If claim was to be paid, made sure that all the correct benefits were processed under all the correct lines of business that the claim could be processed under for payment.

Would drive around the neighborhoods on my beat to make sure that everyone on my beat were safe and felt safe with my presents.

Had to write many reports so that not only could I go back and understand it at a later date but also the citizens of Columbus GA but Insurance Companies, Attorneys, doctors, etc.

If I arrested a person, then they knew why they were being arrested and what charges were being placed on them and with respect.

Would turn in evidence when evidence was able to be turned in and processed all paperwork and did not ever put that onto another one of my fellow officers.

Deputy Sheriff, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Department, Columbus GA

Worked all throughout the jail in booking, intake, fingerprinting, up on the floor’s taking care of the inmates.

Processed in inmates in the booking department to make sure the paperwork was correct and the charges matched the paperwork and the computer.

Processed out inmates and made sure that all the paperwork was completed corrected before the inmate was to leave the jail and made sure that the inmate had all the correct property that the inmate came in with.

During the intake process I would make sure that the inmate did not have any weapons on their person and then ask them questions to make sure that we had the correct information on file.

During fingerprinting I would make sure that their current picture was in the system and that their current fingerprint was also in the system, no matter how many times they had been in before. Also, I would check to see if they were related to any gangs and get current pictures of all tattoos on their body.

Up on the floor’s, I would make sure the inmates had their medicine on their schedule time, along with breakfast, snack and early dinner. Also, would make sure that everyone did not have a problem with the other person and if they did I would have to figure out what would need to be done to be able to handle the situation.

I would also take inmates to schedule appointments throughout town and to the hospital if one became sick.

Also, if an inmate had to be takin to another prison or correctional facility then I would help transport that inmate when needed.
