Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Oversee all aspects of business unit accounting and coordinating the preparation of all financial statements, budgets and special analysis. Performing financial analysis on SKU; Product, Customer and Channel profitability and identifying cost reduction opportunities. • Oversee the maintenance of the General Ledger and appropriate Sub Ledgers and to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. • Analyze and understand the main profit drivers of the business and ensure that the business unit is aligned with them. Monitoring CAPEX spending and return on investment. • Ensure timely and accurate monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts including but not limited to inter-company transactions, rebates, inventory, etc. and selected income statement accounts • Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting to include closing the ledger in accordance with Corporate deadlines, Reviewing financial statements, Reporting final numbers to Corporate for consolidation and analyzing results of the period • Maintain, train and mentor adequate staff to complete all accounting functions accurately and efficiently • Oversee the Credit/Accounts Receivable function including the management of credit risk and collection efforts. • Serve as a member of the leadership management team and a principal accounting and financial advisor for Business Unit Management. • Prepare, participate in and presenting budget, forecasts, and monthly/quarterly review summaries to senior management and providing interpretive financial evaluations of Business Unit performance.

Rashwell Company LLC - A Food Stuff Trading Company in Dubai - United Arab Emirates 1994 - 2001

Worked as Financial Controller.

Company deals in Dry foodstuff Imports, local trading and distribution. Company had a network spread over all the Emirates of UAE all major cities of Oman and Qatar. Company's accounting system was fully computerized.

Responsibilities included overall accounting systems, records and requirements and effective control of the financial accounting function, periodic management reports and consolidated Financial Statements, ensuring compliance with requirements of the IAS (International Accounting Standards) Budgets, identifying potential areas of threats and suggesting remedial actions, effective funds management and providing financial appraisal and analysis support to the management. Company uses ORION as an ERP solution.

Co-ordinated due diligence for the prospective buyers of the Company. Responsible for the preparation of all the audit schedules, summaries, variance analysis and interacting with KPMG and Price Waterhouse independent accounting firm.

Habib Group - Karachi Pakistan 1987 - 1994

Worked with Habibs one of the largest groups of Pakistan as Finance Manager in their Head Office and managed accounting and financial matters of several Private Limited Companies engaged in solvent extraction, cooking oil refinement, fabrication of automobile components, Imports, Exports and local trading in tires etc.

In 1991 transferred to Group's largest quoted Company engaged in production of refined sugar and Industrial alcohol in the capacity of Assistant General Manager (Management Information System).

Responsibilities included assisting Group Finance Director and Company Secretary in his assignments viz. corporate matters of Group Companies, feasibility study of new projects, analytical review of Group Companies' operating results, special audits, comparative study of Sugar manufacturing cost in different sugar mills of Pakistan and various such assignments. Projections, reviewing budgets and monitoring adverse variances, liaison with Insurance Company for risk coverage and claims settlement, liaison with Company's Bankers, lease arrangements and various analysis and management reports.

Worked in Pakistan with Gestetner (Private) Limited a subsidiary of multi-national Company as Chief Accountant / Finance Manager. Company was engaged in Import and distribution of "Gestetner" Brand Office equipment.
