EXPERIENCE

YALE BURGE ANTIQUES, NEW YORK, NY

I was a showroom manager as well as a salesperson and cataloguer of fine antique furniture and decor. Four times a year we would receive shipments from England and France and it was our job to stage the showroom floor as well as research and catalogue every piece for our inventory. Usually there were 250 items. I was an employee for 12 years. Most importantly we were responsible for customer service and assisting designers with any information they might need on the extraordinary pieces. We also coordinated consignments or smoothly executed sales and arranged deliveries. It was a 15,000 square foot showroom on two floors and each piece had it’s own unique history and purpose. We kept abreast of the market by attending auctions at Sotheby’s and Christies as well as visiting antique shows and studying Architectural Digest, Auction Catalogues and current trends. Currently I am a stay-at-home mom to my beautiful son and daughter. James is 13 and Charlotte is 10. Aside from the ongoing organization skills needed to maintain our home and juggle four different schedules, caring for my family has called upon all of my talents through constant communication, troubleshooting, quick thinking and stamina. Watching them grow and helping them to feel proud of themselves is very rewarding. Creative problem solving and using my analytical mind is a favorite way to spend my time. I love being part of a team and making a difference to those who need it. EDUCATION
