Worked on the evening and night shifts supervising the nursing assistants and doing one to one care for the patients on the intermediate level of care, skilled level of care, assisted living and the Alzheimer’s unit. Several times a week I floated to a different unit so that I was able to use my skills all my skills that I have acquired throughout my years of experience.

At the time of being initially hired the facility was in the process of changing their charting system to the EMR. I was able to become proficient in my documentation for Medicare charting, skilled level of care charting and intermediate care charting. Became proficient in nursing assessments.

When I worked on the skilled unit, I was responsible for Iv therapy, rehab exercises as deemed appropriate to their plan of care set up by physical therapy.

Also, when working the skilled unit, I provided patient teaching, peritoneal dialysis, advanced wound care, and rehab exercises as planned by the physical therapy department. Often, I would help prepare a patient with their discharge plans to go home by helping them reach their goals by educating them on their plan of care and procedures that would have to perform themselves upon being at home independently.

Received certifications in Alzheimer’s care and wound care.

In one position that I held I provided marketing to help our business grow while working as an ADON in a small nursing facility in 1998.

Became Iv certified and CPR certified along with certifications in ventilator care and monitoring in the pediatric ventilator patient.

Throughout my career as a nurse I developed a unique set of communication skills and could adapt to the situation at that time.
