Profile:
My Career prepared me to practice optometry at the full scope of practice, including a focus on medical and behavioral optometry. I graduated New England College of Optometry in 2000 and worked at various offices for the year. In 2001, I purchased my private optometry office from a retiring optometrist, and tripled my patient base over 17 years.
My experience helped me build a referral network of professionals to work with (Occupational Therapists, School Systems, Physical Therapists, Pediatricians, Psychologists, Opticians, Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, and Attorneys).
Professional Career:
2017- Present
Chief Optometrist at Norwich Ophthalmology Group
Practicing at the highest level medical optometry, I routinely examine and treat the eye conditions that are referred to Ophthalmology. As the only Chief Optometrist in the practice, I am responsible for overseeing the other Optometrists in the practice as well as emergency eye care, general eye exams, and pediatric eye care. I perform in office procedures such as amniotic membrane grafts, punctual occlusion, lacrimal irrigation, foreign body removal, and epilation for trichiasis. Being one of the 7 doctors in practice, I also rotate on the “on call” schedule. Fast paced office, with high demand for exceptional patient time management.
2017- Present
Speaker for American Board of Opticianry (ABO-NCLE)
Approved by ABO-NCLE I create continuing education lectures and present them to Connecticut Opticians 2-4 times per year.
2001-2017
Owner Rocky Hill Eye Associates, P.C.
As owner and president, I managed all office and business responsibilities in addition to providing the primary eye care. I practiced full range of optometry with a strong emphasis on pediatric eye care and visual development.
My office consisted of 3 medical assistants, a Registered Nurse, and an office manager. A normal day will have 18-23 patients, with 4-6 of them in for vision therapy. I was privileged to have been a clinical externship location for New England College of Optometry and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services, and help train doctors in their final year of school. In addition, multiple technical schools in Connecticut sent me Medical Assistants to train in their final clinical rotation before graduation.
Oct 2008- July 2012
Per Diem Optometrist At Suffield Eye care
In addition to my private practice, I decided to work in another office providing pediatric eye care and developmental eye care services. The experience was rewarding, and I learned another way to add vision therapy into an established medical optometry practice.
September 2004- Oct 2008
Clinical Director of TLC Laser Vision Center Fairfield, CT
In addition to my established private practice, I managed TLC Fairfield, CT 3 days per week. I was in charge of controlling all medical aspects of a patient undergoing refractive surgery. I managed the staff in the clinic and made sure all equipment was calibrated, all medication was available, software was updated, responsible for all patient care, and I was the liaison from TLC to our affiliate doctors.
I was also in charge of providing optometrists with continuing education credits, whether speaking on topics myself, or acquiring speakers.
June 2000 – July 2002

I performed full optometry as a staff optometrist, and also was able to administer therapy treatment to my patients as needed.
