PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

I have been involved in the education field for over 30 years. My early experience commenced with the Canadian Armed Forces where I was a Training Officer, recruiting and training cadets/officers in the Canadian Military. Subsequently, I worked as a Child & Youth Social Worker, counseling exceptional children/youth while in care. Finally, I taught and counseled junior students within the Waterloo Region District School Board in Canada.

In 2000, I relocated to China, where I taught in a variety of locations throughout the country at multiple levels (primary, secondary and college). I was also a consultant with the International Exchange Department of the Jingying Education Group. In 2005, I participated in a school business venture to Australia and New Zealand with the President of the Jingying Education Group and the Director of International Exchange.

In 2006, I relocated to the city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province, where I taught at an English Training Centre. The school would send me to different companies and I would assess the students’ level of English and then instruct the course. In 2007, I was appointed the Director of Studies at English First. I left EF in 2012 and was hired as the Vice Principal of a Primary School in the same city.
