Dispatch/Inside Sales

I check in with dispatch manager on how the night went.

Look at line haul log sheet, to see what they have going on for the day.

Check in with night dispatcher on how his night went and discuss any problems that might have come up.

Look at local log sheet and review work orders on loads for that day.

Glance at all drivers’ hours on People-net to see how they are for todays’ workload.

Review and answer new emails that have arrived.

I work primarily with local dispatch filling in when he is at lunch, talking to drivers on the phone and on People-net.

I write most all work orders, type them into Anzio, print them, and attach them to corresponding work orders.

I schedule all loading and unloading for local dispatch.

I am constantly on the phone with customers trying to get more business for our company, keeping in touch with them so we are on their minds They need to know we are out there and want their business.

I handle all boat work for, this consists of informing our dock haulers when vessels will arrive and what yard it needs to deliver to.

I print all heat numbers, once printed I put in order by heat number.

I write work orders for every P.O. instructing our yard to sort and separate each bundle by heat number.

I type all waybills instructing which yard is to receive the boat pipe coming into our facility.

I type a manifest that is sent customer outlining bill of lading number, bundle count, piece count, product number, and P.O. number.

When customer needs pipe for their facility they send an email for what they need. I locate vessel file, write work order for what item they are requesting, fax order to our yard, and give order to local dispatch to handle.

I do some collections on past due accounts.

I communicate with all co-workers in office to help in any way I can.

I take existing customers out to lunch and discuss our service and try to obtain more business from them. I also take new customers to lunch and try to obtain business from them.

I work with our drivers and assist them in any way I can to help them do their job as efficiently as possible.

I try to visit our customer in Navasota twice a month for lunch.

At the end of the day, I set up scheduling for local deliveries for the following day.

I also work closely with and support Carlos on local dispatch.

I also, at times, try to bring levity to an otherwise busy and stressful dispatch office.
