My routine duties include

• Helping people to eat, wash, and dress

• Preparing and serving meals

• Administering or assisting nurses with the administration of medications

• Organizing social events, day trips, and leisure activities for patients

• Providing emotional and social support for vulnerable children and adults

• Working within a larger team of healthcare workers to determine the best care options for patients

• Helping patients use the bathroom

• Turning, repositioning and moving patients between places in a home

• Recording health concerns from patients and cascading them through management

• Providing and maintaining a high standard of customer focused clerical, administrative and reception services

• Providing non-nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other

• Maintaining basic home / ward equipment and adequate stores. I have demonstrated the following qualities:

1. Passion, Friendliness & Empathy: I love my job, and show great compassion for my patients, as I always show a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for them. I can easily establish a cordial relationship with my patients, take time to communicate with them, share jokes and be an active listener when they share their challenges. Often, I receive positive appraisals from my patients, colleagues and superiors. I always take time to suggest solutions to patients who divulge any social challenges they would be facing. I also share my own experiences as well, in a bid to make patients realise that it is not only them having problems. An example is where I dealt with a girl who was struggling following the death of her father. I made sure that she was not left alone for too long, and encouraged her to accept the loss, and be positive, reassured her that everything was going to be ok. I also made sure that she had all the basic supplies including water, and felt safe. 2. Dedication: I can demonstrate that I am dedicated to my work and role as a Nurse Aide as I have taken keen interest in-, and embarked on in-service training to advance my career, have taken time to acquire requisite skills including IT training. I also read widely to sharpen my communication skills. I make sure to give my patients all I got, including my full attention. I have seen myself growing within my career as a result. developed additional skills. I have also inspired my team members as many have followed suite.

3. Flexibility & Reliability: I always make myself as approachable as possible, and make myself available to work extra hours, sometimes without getting compensated. I have often gone out of my way to help patients and colleagues using my own resources, as I am a strong believer of sharing. At one time, I had to help a patient who had asked for bus fare. I was pleased to have been able to help. I often see that my superiors would normally choose me over my colleagues for challenging assignments, which is a sign of reliability.

4. Organisational skills: I always take care to keep my workplace and living quarters/home clean and organised. I make sure that the office is as tidy and organised as possible. I have now adapted to the use of IT applications such as MS Word and Excel to keep records, write reports, as well as communicate with my superiors via email, WhatsApp and so forth. 5. Positivity and Patience: As my line of work involves working with patients, I have learnt to be as positive and patient as possible. Some patients may exert workers and fellow patients to a lot of stress. I always show loads of patience with such patients, and take time to communicate with them, and where possible offer advice. As such, I always approach my work with high levels of positivity. This makes me feel satisfied with my work.

6. Hardworking: I am a hardworking healthcare worker. Positive- and open-minded. Adaptable. I am therefore open to take up a position in any environment, cultural background or country.
