Sarah,

I became acquainted with Larry Thompson in June 2011 when I became a member of YMCA Arlington. I joined the YMCA subsequent to retirement and found I needed to learn tools to assist in gaining control over balance and navigational skills due to partial blindness, and residuals from some body paralysis a number of years ago.

Larry has demonstrated the unique ability for equal amounts of sensitive and tenacity to ensure I worked through the challenges and pain of illio-tibial band syndrome (ITBS), chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), and bone spurs in my hip and neck, moderate to severe hip bursitis and my general frustration. He saw me though numerous endless balance exercises and hours of endurance, strength and stamina workouts. To the same end, there were valued personal discussions about commitment to decisions and the journey towards solutions.

I plan to leave Arlington and Virginia for the west coast before 2014 elapses. The past 3 years, personally and physically have been difficult on many levels.

An improved life comes with small and consistent steps and a man like Larry Thompson in your life.

Thank you, Larry by no means addresses my appreciation!
